    Reina

    Cara .....Skrtel ....Kyrgiakos ....Johnson

    .....Gerrard .....Lucas ....Meireles

    Cole ...Kuyt ....Maxi

Id start Carroll on the bench , still no need to rush him back to 90 Min's .

Subs :Jones Pacheco Wilson Carroll Ngog Poulsen Coady

Braga's home form is good in the league but their away form is shocking only 2 wins against teams at the bottom of the league.
But both away wins have been in their last 3 away games won 2 and drew the other.

This imo will be a tough away game.

    Domestic league at home..
    Home games 11
    7 wins draw 1 loss 3

2 of those 3 defeats in their last 3 home games , seems they have improved their away from lately and home form has dropped ...
Good Home win at the weekend against 2ND place Benfica 2-1.

Another dour nil nil draw I would take back to Anfield for the second leg next week.

Maybe rest Gerrard, he didn't look 100% yesterday at all. I'd agree with the Carroll one, give him half an hour at the end maybe.

Id take a score draw and finish it at home , seem to be a side that are up and down with their form much like us.
But a away win would be nice with Sunderland away 3 days after the home game.

    Pity no Suarez

Stevie didn't get out of 2nd gear yesterday, didn't have to the way we played. He had a painkilling injection beforehand to get him through the game. Have him on the bench, only bring him on if we need him.

I'd agree with resting Gerrard for this one. He really looks like he could use the break.

0-0 bore-fest would do nicely. Finish them off at Anfield then,

No thanks, been to 3 out of 4 euro away's this season and they've all finished 0-0. Is it too much to ask for just one goal on Thursday night?

NO 0-0 all season at home for Braga ..

Braga haven't had a 0-0 in any of their home league games or any of their European games a good few 3-1 and a 5-1 + 0-3 , maybe we will see goals ?
Also no 0-0 away in Europe either , they have a lot of high scoring games this season 5-1 6-0 4-3 etc.

Only 2 games all season finished 0-0 both away in the league.

Is Sean going to this ?
    :)

I think it's going be 0-0 going from the way we played away from home in the previous round. A draw wouldn't be the worse result in the world but come on we are good enough to grap a goal or 2 in the 1st leg. I would Carroll if fit and ready to go, can't face 90 minutes with NGog sorry

Going to be a tough game away to this lot. They beat Arsenal 2 nil in the Champions League group stage. I'd be surprised if Gerrard traveled probably better of letting him rest. Would love to see Carroll start can't take much more of N'Gog up there on his own. I'd be delighted with a score draw and take them at Anfield in the second leg. Anyone know what the story is with Agger?
