Details below for an IrishKop tipping competition €10 entrance fee (payment can be made by paypal, bank transfer or cash, just PM me for details) * 1 selection per race * All prices are SP only * If your selection is a non-runner you can change it up until the race starts, if you forget to it is replaced with highest numbered horse in race (e.g. 29 horses in race, you get number 29) *see note below also* * All selections for each days racing to be in 15 minutes before the first race * If you forget to select a horse for a race(s) you will not receive any replacement selection * One race a day will be double points if your horse is in the money, I will post up each day which is the double points race * You are to NAP one of your selections each day, if it wins it's race you will receive an extra 6 points.If you fail to NAP a horse, your NAP will be your selection which is the shortest priced in the Racing Post forecast betting, if two or more selections are joint shortest priced, it will be the horse in the earliest race. * Non-handicaps points for first 3 places and handicaps points for first 4 places * In the event of a dead heat in a race, points will be adjusted accordingly * Points awarded like this 1st place - 100% of SP 2nd place - 50% of SP 3rd place - 35% of SP 4th place (if paying 4 places) - 25% of SP So for example, result of a race below and the points awarded to you if your horse finished in one of the first four positions 1st - Horse A - 8/1 = 8 points (100%) 2nd - Horse D - 5/1 = 2.5 points (50%) 3rd - Horse G - 7/1 = 2.45 points (35%) 4th - Horse M - 4/1 = 1 points (25%) Note: In relation to the point above regarding what happens if you have a non-runner and you notice it before the race starts, DONT edit your original post with your days selections, just post it in the thread(for everyone else to see) as a new post and PM me also. 15 entrants, so total prize pool is €150. Count me in,great idea.Just a suggestion on the non runner,would a change to the SP fav be a better idea??
I was thinking that, but the reason I didnt go with the SP fav,was in case there was joint or co favs - someone had more chances(albeit the odds would be divided accordingly), also in case a few favs won at Cheltenham and somone got lucky by default. Most non-runners will be obvious before 12.30 you would think and even still they have until just before the race to make any change if there horse is a non-runner. If people want, we can go with SP fav instead of picking a replacement/or having the highest horse selected. I'd be in favour of how it is, but whatever people think.
