I dropped my laptop today and screen is completely gone. Computer is turning on and off but screen is goosed. Can see crack when it's off. Looks like the gel in the screen is broke

It is a Advent Verona Red laptop

Anyone any advise on where i can get replacement screen and have it fitted.or would it be better to buy new laptop? That is last resort

Checked eBay and new screen came up as about €100 but I wouldn't have clue how to fit it

Sick as a dog as love the thing

buy the new screen, .I could fit it for you, if not a repair shop would charge between 30 and 80 to do it,. that way you'd be insured if anything else goes wrong with the installation,.

    Nice one Elvis

Going to check out exact cost in repair shop or two and cost of replacement laptop and see which would be best. Either way a costly accident

if you buy the screen, you max cost is 180 max, new laptop your looking at at least 300, whats the spec of your laptop?

another option, would be to buy the new screen and sell the laptop with new screen on adverts.ie, and then buy a new one, that would be the cheapest option,. or trade it for another one etc,.

Hmmm good options to consider alright

    Spec:
    Intel celeron 743
    3072mb ddr2 ram
    250g harddrive
Mobile intel 4 series express graphic card

Not good on tech side on computers but got these specs from it

to replace one like that your looking at above 400,.
best option is buy the screen anyway, then either sell, repair, or trade,. anything else will cost you a fortune,.

Would anyone on here have any notion of this crowd: http://www.brokenscreen.ie/

Got quote from them to fix screen for €170 inc. courier collection/ delivery/ full insurance/ repair and parts

Local computer shop beside me quoted €210 so this crowd defo seem like better option.

    Ended up going with www.compfix.ie

Just got this back now and total came in at €150 - collected and dropped back to me in work. PC World were looking for €300 originally so happy now with how it went
