My favourite thing is we ahve to wait til 8am for an exit poll even though they did ti electronically, while we dont even start countign by 10am.
Most countries are near finished by then! hilariously typical.

Can't see it happening mate. I suspect when the count is over, there'll be more FF seats than many here expect.
While I didn't vote FF for one of the seats in my constituency this time, my family have traditionally been big FF fans and always voted for them (not spoken to any family for a day or three so not sure how they voted this time mind you), I did myself in times past. I think this type of family history will have played a part in voting, when people went to the polls, even yesterday.
Suspect those here who did vote FF this time around, most likely did it on the basis of their specific local representatives rather than the party itself - no doubt there's still good people in the FF party, despite all thats happened.

It looks like voters were telling a few porkies on the RTE exit poll, Fianna Fail doing slightly better.
In my book thats as low as it gets, firstly for voting FF and then not even having the balls to admit you did and pretend you voted someone else.

A couple of people who I talked to who gave some sort of vote to FF said it was so "to provide some sort of opposition in the Dail". Each to their own I suppose.

Let it go lads. People are entitled to vote for who they want without having to explain themselves to likes of you or RTE.

Thats fair enough but what I struggle to understand is why someone would vote for someone if they're ashamed to admit it.

Do you mind if I ask you why mate? I'm just curious as to why people vote fianna fail. I was thinking it's down to local issues because I'm sure they do have some decent members but I'd like to hear one of their supporters view points.

I think some folk just like to keep their reasons for voting private. I was chatting to a jo-maxi driver last night and asked him who he voted for and it turned into the most silent cab-ride of me life. Some people just dont like talking about it.
I've no idea why, but its common enough.
I'd leave it at that Babbs mate. I'm sure if the FF voters on here wanted to give their reasons then they would have done so already.
I understand where yer coming from though, I'm amazed they got any bloody votes. But each to their own.

How's it looking in Meath West does anybody know? Thought the SF lad is in with a chance of getting the third seat before the election, so would be interested to see how it's going. 2 FG, 1 Labour I suspect
