I have a Zebra TLP2844 barcode printer which uses Teklyn Labelview 8.03. Basically on Friday it just disappeared of my system, coming up as "drive name error". I know its a bit vague but has anyone any idea how to get it back? Thanks Bob,
You may need to reinstall the device drivers. Unless you deleted it by accident, you may have a virus of some form thats messing with drivers, unless your anti virus identified it as a threat, and changed the registry.
What do you mean "unless you deleted it by accident", what kind of file would I have to delete? Just done a full system scan and came up clear, should I do registry type scan? Tried this with a couple of different dates, no joy.
What anti virus are you using? It could be a stem file or registry file that was deleted, but seein as you know how to do a registry scan, I am presuming you wouldn't delete regs or system files. If you have a disk or download the software from the site that should fix it, but i suspect it's either a virus or your anti virus is causing the issue. I'll be able to fond out more when I'm home from work.
Sounds very strange for a printer to disapear, I would seriously doubt it is virus related. Get the install CD's and reinstall it mate - oh and just for saying its sake, you have truned off the PC and printer - fully disconnected the printer - reconnected it and then rebooted?
go to here, and download the driver for your printer http://www.seagullscientific.com/aspx/welcome.aspx and if that doesnt work, use this and see waht errors appear when you try to print if any,. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ie/sysinternals/bb545021.aspx
OK its seems the printer hasn't dissappeared, looks more like an issue with the software package. Its now coming up as out of memory, I can delete loads of barcodes if thats the real issue, problem is I can't access the programme to delete them. When I try enter the programme it does nothing for a couple of minutes (not responding) then shuts down.
you can contact the support team from here, http://www.teklynx.com/download/download_by_type.weml?product_link=49&type=Product&we_language=en they also have a fairly extensive FAQ section which may help you. They also supply software, so you can update the software, and it may fix your issue.
Again just asking the obvious - It doesnt by any chance say out of system resources does it? Elvis - is it that obvious!
The whole switch it off and on, is a dead give away its the IT guys in work solution to EVERYTHING, i've had some run ins with them lately, and proven them to be useless on more than a few occasions, and they still wont allow me to apply for a job, as im not "qualified" yet I know more than the guys there. I even get IM'd asking for help from one of them the odd time. Does my nut in.
