    The 17-year-old son of Kinsale trainer Robert Tyner has died as a result of injuries suffered in a point-to-point fall on Tuesday.

    Jack Tyner was involved in a fall at Dungarvan on Tuesday. After riding a winner in the first race, his mount took a heavy fall at the first fence in the next.

    He passed away early this morning in Cork University Hospital.

    AMATEUR rider Jack Tyner, who was in an induced coma following a fall at Dungarvan point-to-point, in County Waterford, last Tuesday, died in the early hours of Monday morning.

    The only son of trainer Robert Tyner and his wife Mary had been treated for a serious head injury at Cork University Hospital following the fall from Dusmagic at the first fence in the concluding contest.

    The jockey's condition had been described as "stable" by his father on Thursday.

    RIP, was just gonna post this, but rover beat me to it. Lovely lad seemed to be holding his own all week but had surgery last night. Local community here is in shock.
    Thoughts are with his family and friends
