Personally I didn't think it was a great year for music although I didn't listen to a huge amount of it, there were some memorable albums and songs.
My highlights were The National ....High Violet, the best band around at the moment, The XX were a welcome surprise, The villagers had a good year with a solid album. Cant remember a huge amount of other good music maybe the gorrilaz I haven't heard enough of the arcade fire and kings of leon albums to judge properly yet

The national & villagers would be my highlights too. Big fan of the national, fantastic gig in the olympia and saw villagers in kilkenny, great show too.

High Violet album of the year for me.

Into fairly heavy music so I don't think I will be joined by many in my opinions : )

My favourite album was english metalcore band, bring me the horizon and their album "There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let's Keep It a Secret"

Also I liked Welsh metal band bullet for my valentine with their album "fever" and breaking Benjamin and their album "dear agony".English band inme and American band chevelle were also highlights for me.

Kanye west new album seems to be good too.

Have to agree about Music this year.I think it has been fairly poor, and not much out there has been great.

Couple of decent tracks on Both Eminem, and Kanye's album this year..

Swedish House mafias for me was the best album of 2010..
