Gooners gunned down by Toon Army

Well, almost, but Woohoooo anyway!!!! 2 points dropped by Arsenal…In St James..Against Newcastle…

The same team that were made to look like a pub team in their last home game against Liverpool FC!!

Big Sam certainly knows how to approach Arsenal. Newcastle pressed them all night and could’ve won. Well done to him, any one who takes points off Arsenal is alright by me :) especially since we took all 3 points in their back yard!

great result for us, with the gooners only drawing.

Hopefully we can now win our game in hand, and put more pressure on them if were only 4 points behind.:D

Yeah good result for The Pool.

Apparently Arsenal have 9 games during December. They're starting to get a few injuries now, hopefully they'll start dropping a few points. That said, we need to keep our good form going to take advantage.

Other teams should take note of how Newcastle played them tonight - they don't like to be pressed.

Give them time on the ball and they are amazing (as most pro footballers are if not tackled) - Adebayor's finish was OK ;)

In fairness to 5forKeeps, he started a thread titled "Newcastle v Arsenal". Someone else started a thread with the gunned down title - both threads were merged.

    Excellent result ...

Mind you, as many of you have said, we seriously need to keep up the current good form, scoring lots of goals to improve goal difference further also ...

Lets face it, we've a lot of games coming up also ... so fingers crossed, we'll get our 3 points for the game in hand etc. Speaking of this, when is it due to be played ?

Aha, and like when we scored that third goal against Newcastle with that fantastic build up play it barely got a mention. Had Arsenal done that the media would have been oozing over it for weeks.

I think there is a perception in the English media that Liverpool will not be featuring in the title race come March. I'm happy with that to be honest, lets get on with our own business as quietly as possible for as long as possible.

The way to get at Arsenal is play with a target man and lob balls into the box at him, Alan Smith who is'nt the biggest one everything in the air tonight, Carew gave them a torrid time on Saturday,Kenwyne Jones destroyed them in the Emirates in October for Sunderland, and we all remember Crouchie last season in anfield no point trying to best them on the ground as there back 4 could all be olympic sprinters. Lets hope Middelsboro apply the same tactic against them Sunday.

arsenal are abysmal in the air..and from defending set pieces. Media didn't up on this..probably due to their 'sparkling football'

Suprising other teams haven't tried to take advantage of it.

Arsenal lose toure and eboue, Toure been the major loss for the arsenal going to the ACON.

all in all, no point arsenal losing points if we don't do our bit. I hope the lads are fired up for the game against reading..

Arsenal should have drew at the weekend agianst villa, and only drew last night

And looking at there next few games, there are a few tricky ones, that could turn this lead around

    16 Sun Barclays Premier League H Chelsea 4pm SS1
    22 Sat Barclays Premier League H Tottenham H. 12.45pm SS1
26 Wed Barclays Premier League Away Portsmouth 7.45pm SS1
29 Sat Barclays Premier League Away Everton 5.15pm SET 1

That's away to West Ham. Our home game was postponed. I have a feeling Rafa will keep this game for the end of the season if we are in with a chance of the title.

There's a few free midweek dates in January at the moment. Obviously these could be league cup semi finals or F.A cuip replay dates. I'd like to get it out of the way asap. Nothing worse than looking at the table and adding 3 points in your head. Doesn't always work out just ask Arsenal.
