Apparently TV3 led off with the Katy French story tonight.

First there was a report...followed by a live link to the hospital, then another live link to your woman from Expose, gushing about celebrity friends and wishing her well with her mystery "illness"

Then they do the omagh story...

What has this country come to I am disgusted by this...of all the things going on in the world this is most definitely not news wordy at all.

Ok its a tragedy for the girls family that she is sick but its not news wordy.

Hi mate

Whatever about news, its not headline news I'd say ... I fear they suspect the worst here .. gossip flying all over the place, as to what she had for her birthday etc etc (best not to repeat it here, given it's probably liabelous etc)

they did lead with this, i couldnt believe this - i dont know what er happened to her as i turned off straight away.
but then again its hardly surprising considering the standard of programming on tv3 - kids with babies, trailer trash weddings etc...

Thats just crazy, its not as if its a slow news day...how can the decide "we'll go with that first" ahead of the Russian elections and the Venezuelans rejecting Chavez' crazy plan.

If you said Katy French took/collapsed at a party/

Reflects TV3 as a station really. It's a women's channel, and this is what they want. Celebrity, celebrity, celebrity.

Its just a showbiz channel, I wouldn't take their news reports seriously one bit. Its disgraceful carry on, but when it comes to TV3 its just not surprising.

Tabloid TV lads, i don't expect anything else.
If you want to watch the news dont bother tuning into it.
The best news of the 4 is actaully on TG4, no bull. No good of course if you cant understand our native tounge!

Im not a fan of TV3 news and their choice of lead story doesnt surprise me one bit.

I dealt with Katy as part of a charity function a few years ago and I have to say she was one of the most down to earth people I have ever come accross, top lass. I sincerely hope she get better very soon and is back out and about in no time.

One of the good ones, I have to emphasise!

On a side note, you will not be surprised to learn that Sinead Desmond, the female presenter of the news, weather and chat show in the mornings on TV3 was previously a hack with our "favourite" rag full of lies. Another reason to avoid TV3, if possible.

Still 20 times better than RTE though.

Is spot on. It's a tabloid TV channel.
