This kid is an absolute nailed on certainity to leave Real Madrid in January. They just have no place for him in their expensively assembled squad and will look to get him off the wage bill. We need to be in the race to sign him as he is a proven goalscorer. Of all the players mentioned since the end of the last window this is by far the best for many reasons. He fits all the criteria that the board asked for by way of age and world class (potentail) status. We have seen others move out of Real for less illustrious pastures like huntelaar and Raul. Benzema possesses everything you would want in a Torres partnership. He has movement, skill, pace and an eye for goal. Now lets be true to our word at the club and go all out for him and don't let Utd, City or Chelsea steal a march. We need at least one big impact signing in January just to steady the ship and get us into the european places, top 6. He would prove to be money well spent and would only increase in value because of his age and potential. He represents better value for monet than the likes of Cole, Gomez, Zamora and the others mentioned. I see we have been looking at a young french player at Sociedad which is good but you need to get proven performers to go alongside these youngsters.
Would love to get him I think he's the best of what's available out there and to get one of Fergie's targets because he can no longer afford him would be loverly
Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta may been forced to dip into the transfer fund in January to find a replacement for the injured Amauri, and Real Madrid's Karim Benzema appears to be top of the list according to Corriere dello Sport. The Bianconeri had been linked with a move for los Blancos' French striker, but were looking to fund the deal by selling Amauri, who has been ruled out with knee ligament damage. Another option for Marotta is the possiblity to reunite himself with Sampdoria's Antonio Cassano, who looks destined to leave the club after a war of words with officials. Competition is high for Benzema and he will surely not come at a light price after Real Madrid parted with €35 million to land the former Lyon forward. Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester United, all lurking in the shadows in the event of a drastic drop in price. The player's agent has however ruled out a move, with Benzema's confidence slowly coming back. A goal against England during this week's international games will have certainly done no harm.
Would love to sign Benzema think he would be a great addition to the squad but I agree with Trucker, can't see Real letting him go as they don't have many strikers. Unless they sign one.
With a French manager in place at Villa and guaranteed first team football, it could well be where he would opt to go!
i still dont think he would go there yes he would play every week but he would play every week with us too or even utd for that matter im surprised arsenal havent been linked with him maybe its the transfare fee or wages thing
Never know with Houllier being the manager, seen stranger signings. He would a top player for any club have a bad feeling that he could go to utd at end of the season, there was a lot of talk about it last summer.
i'd love to take Benzema. Look at other players who leave Madrid, and what they achieve. Van der Vaart and Schniejder to but name but 2
Even for us to show an interest and be competing for his signiture would be a very plesant refreshing change. Would love to see him at Liverpool
He would be the same as Van der Vaart did not have many game last Season and have plenty in the tank and would have an impart straight away in the PL imo Mr H have a look please 3 points Saturday and stop WH blowing Bubbles.
Would be delighted to see him with us.Himself and Torres would be some strikeforce.I know what I want from Santa this Xmas now : )
it makes a nice change to be linked with players like this and not free transfares for a change i hope we get him january is going to be interesting
Benzema is a great footballer but he's a bad egg. I mentioned his name to my mate who lives in Barcelona yesterday and he said we should steer well clear of him. Jose can't get rid of him quick enough because he's bad for the dressing room
Roy wants a target man for Torres , Benzema I don't think is the type of target man he wants, although I would cream myself to see a Torres & Benzema partnership I wouldn't be confident that Roy would want the same.
