http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/world-of-sport/article/24271/ An astonishing blunder by a Qatari player cost his country a place in the Asian Games quarter-finals. Khalfan Fahad came up with one of the worst misses ever in the 1-0 defeat against Uzbekistan at the Games in China. The 18-year-old's gaffe came in the first minute of extra time, with the game still goalless. Uzbek goalkeeper Timur Juraev let the ball through his legs, presenting Fahad with an open goal, but he hit the post after inexplicably shooting with the outside of his left foot. The luckless Fahad's expression after the miss said it all. And things went from bad to worse, as Ivan Nagaev hit the winner for Uzbekistan. Fahad's team-nate Mohamed Sala Eineel said: "It's a bad moment for him. He's a young player and he's got to forget this one."
Sweet god that was terrible..Id imagine he was too busy thinking about how he was going to celebrate.
I was actually at this game, and I think it was used later in a tv ad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGOVbqXrufM
I was waiting for good ould Ronny's miss to come up and this clip didnt fail me. Infairness to the first miss, Dyer, you could forgive him for that one, it was full pelt, Keeper did enough to put him off, angle too ...
I remember Chris Iwelemou (spelling?!) had a woeful miss against Macedonia I think it was will try find a clip but was awful!
