Got roped into heading over for the villa united match next saturday with a mate, justified it at the time of booking flights as i was on the boycott.anyway flights get to brum at half seven and the match is quarter to one kick off,has anyone any suggestions for an early house to keep us occupied for a couple of hours??ive only ever passed thru brum so ive no real knowledge of it
Not wanting to hijack the thread but heading to Villa Arsenal at the end of the month with the auld fella (villa fan) and was looking for decent boozers in and around the ground. Im sure most on here would have experience of away friendly spots but any help appreciated
haha was on a stag in newcastle in march and had my breakfast on the sunday morning in one of those establishments.the smell of bleach was something else i wonder why.... and xabi your not hi jacking id be wondering the same thing
Was over there for our game against Birmingham in Sept and we drank in a place called The Spotted Dog in Digbit I think. Its was fairly alright I tought with big beer garden out the back.
xabi 14..if your going to be in the away end at the emirates the drayton arms is close to that part of the ground.
will do i work with a villa fan but hes no use the couple of times hes been over he drinks in the city centre in a pub his bro in laws uncle owns!ive been nosing at the wetherspoons site and it gives opening times for a few of them as 7am.hope its up to date ill have a nose like slur alex by kick off time.
We stopped off in Brum on our way to Slovakia. The Wetherspoons will be open, but they won't serve you til 9am. I think the bar upstairs(landside)if it's still there serves before 9, and you can definitely get carry out in the airport.
got into the briar rose in the city centre early enough for a few its up a hill off new st cant think of the name theres amusements on the corner of it and new st.up at the ground is a disaster though theres only the aston hotel and the witton house and both charge in.ended up in the witton house its segragated so i had to listen to the mancs in their half.couldnt get back into it though after the game, season ticket holders only apparently.the two pubs are right on a roundabout just down from the ground on the doug ellis stands side
Cheers Mate, will give those places a go. Dont mind so much listening to Gooners, but God help ya on Saturday listening to Mancs!
