Would he be a good buy for us?

He is an out and out winger who likes to get chalk on his boots. He scores a few and has a real creative edge. I think he'd be a good buy for a reasonable price. Forget these fanatsy football buys they ain't going to happen. Brunt knows the PL and would fit in straight away.

The more I watch him the more I think he would provide us with something. He's basically a left sided Bentley (a player who I once rated very highly)

We seriously need a couple of wide men. Just who is out there that we could afford and would slot straight in? I know expectations and standards at Liverpool are much higher that at WBA but sometimes you just need to take a punt. Adam Johnson from Middlesboro to Man City was a master stroke and for £5m has proved to be a great buy. Brunt seems realistic to me instead of the likes of Robben, Ribery, Mata, Afellay and Sneijder. I know he doesn't quite meet the superstar status but I just don't think we can relay on any more of these middle of the road foreigners like babel and Maxi.

He only played in the centre as a replacement for Lee Catermole. He is a right side attacking midfielder and is only 20...Playing well this season too for sunderland..

Worth a punt if you could get him for about 5 million but would rarther spend that 5 and 10 million from babel's sale(here's hoping) on Ashley Young.

Think he can play the all way across midfield..Would be a assest to the team, but there is no way fat head would sell him to us, id say he will be heading to Manc Land instead if he every does decide to leave..

Capello had him in a squad recently too if i remeber correctly..

Henderson is a good player but has been 'shunted' wide because of his age. I definitely think he'll end up playing as an AMC. But with Utd and City supposedly interested in him for 12-15mill I dont think he's a realistic target.

i havent seen much of him to be honst but the games i have seen he does deliver a good cross but maybe keeping the powder dry and looking at the ashley young situation in jan or the summer and spending whatever money we have for a wideman on him. ive no problem buying british (or northern ireland ) widemen but our central midefielder (if we buy one) has to be foreign coz england just doesnt produce pirlos/alonso/fabregas type players since paul scholes...and he wasnt always like that - he used to be a very attacking midfielder who just was able to adapt his game as he aged and used his inate footballing genisu to play the alonso role in midfield

Maybe myself and the press are setting our sights rather low but Brunt is a good steady performer. Give me Ashley Young any day of the week but like Milner, Johnson, SWP and Silva before we will be outbid by those with Champions league footie and money. we need to move quick to tie up Young but I fear Tottenham have the march on us.

if we got young on the left and swp on the right we would be a different team all together

Left wing is more a priority imo.

We don't need SWP at all. We need to sign a right back and play Glen Johnson on the right wing a la Gareth Bale. SWP is a headless chicken, just a glorified Pennant. There's a reason he ends up being benched everywhere he goes.
