    Hi

I think this is a good idea, as byrnetred says no need for sickies if you happen to be going to the match etc. I wonder why they are waiting until 2010 to start this though (there can't be too many things arranged for this / next years' CL final that can't be shifted by a few days)

Also, it means the airlines will have to put up with just shafting us for weekend flights & can't now nail us for a midweek one for this game too :D :D :D

All due to Pratini. He wants to see more families and kids attending. Flup knows how they are going to get tickets.

    LOL :D :D :D

He's probably going to introduce family tickets now, 2 parents 2 kids etc ... no doubt this will lead to lots of families turning up with:

2 fathers ( don't get into the physical side of this please ;) )

2 fairly mature looking male kids, who for some strange reason have 2 different second names, to either of their fathers :D

    Tv/sponsors contracts??

Am delighted to see the new format introduced. It will spice the PL up more, teams won't be settling for 4th spot, as if it brings some sort of trophy. More teams will qualify from other nations, therefore developing their leagues, and the final will be moved to Saturday, which is a great idea, I have to say. It will allow more kids to watch it, and as I was not able to watch my first final, 1985, (because of all the crap before it) I understand why. :)

No doubt if Lansdowne ever gets to host a European final, the FAI will insist it starts at 3pm on a Saturday.

Is it also to make sure the Final is a sell out? Anyone know if non Liverpool finals normally sell-out?

This changing to a Saturday final came about from a survey they did 3 years ago on their website. I remember filling it out myself and one of the questions put to fans was would they prefer the final to be played on a Wednesday or a Saturday. Seems plenty people responded saying they preferred the weekend game.

I think its a good idea, in 10 or 15 years people probably won't be able to comprehend why the final was ever played on a Wednesday night.

It will make it easier for people to be off work to watch it. I know a couple of people who got stung on night shift, following it on the BBC website. Sick
