Hi Anyone used Smiles Dental Clinics and if so, how did it go ? Apparently they are much cheaper than many of the local dentists we've all been going to for years http://www.smiles.ie/routine/price-list Cheers
I haven't used that clinic but I went to Belfast a couple of years ago for a root canal and crown. It was definitely worth it.Even taking into account the train travel it works out so much cheaper than down here and you can still claim the tax back. Plus the dentist was hot. Actually you forget that you're at the dentist for a moment or 2.
No, but I saw the guy that set it up featured in the short list for entrepeneur of the year the other night - must be doing something right.
Went to them an year ago and they were surprisingly cheaper than I expected but thought that has something to do with my PRSI and don't go to the dentist that often so can't really compare. Must say it was a bit strange listening to all the drilling and what not happening to other patients on all sides of you while your in the chair.
Huh, you mean it's like "open plan" in office terms or a baber's shop, rather than each patient in a private room ? Thanks
Yep, thats how the one on O'Connell Street is set up anyway. You can't see the person next to you as there are dividers in place but you do hear plenty when the drill isn't in your own gob.
That sounds terrible!! Bad enough having the drilling done to yourself, then having to hear it done to someone else on top of it!!!
I had a check up done in Smiles O'Connell Street a month ago. They were very quick. They are the Ryanair of Dentistry. The open plan office is fine except for the screams from the lady in cubicle next to me.
Has anyone been to one of these clinics recently.I need to get some work done and I'm just wondering how their prices compare to other dentists.I haven't been in about 3 years so not really looking forward to it.
I had a check up with Smiles in South Anne St and was greeted by the fittest dental receptionist I have ever seen.I wasn't the only one smiling. Anyway I made 4 more appointments so they must have done something right. It's like the Specsavers of dentistry. There no messing about and I was in and out of there in 20 minutes tops.they gave me the breakdown of the charges so I know how much I need to pay after each visit. They seem to be cheaper than other dentists.Time will tell I suppose.
I take it all 4 appointments are for times when the same receptionist is on duty so mate Whats the prices like so, if you don't mind disclosing a bit of info there please mate ?
Of course She's the only reason why I chose to get the work done there. The prices seem OK.The cleaning clocks in at 50 euro and the fillings work out at 70 quid a pop.The examination was free.I don't think it could be done any cheaper without going to the North.I will keep you informed and if you need to know anything else feel free. She was a brunette by the way.
4 appointments to go Eric.Plenty of time for the picture. At least I know what Ill be thinking about whilst on the chair.
You'd want to make sure nothing pops up in that case, dangerous game to be playing, unless you were in one of those thai style massage places
Me thinks thats the place on the 1st floor, above the Smile Dental Clinic on South William Street mate
I don't think I need to mate... after all, your the one who came in from Sandyford to South Annes Street
