does it stay on all the time until the battery dies or did you just notice that its staying on now, i know that some makes, the odometer light stays on even after the car is locked but then goes out after a few minutes

Ok i've heard of this problem before and sometimes its similar to a computer confusing itself, Here's what you do

Make sure you have radio code if you need it.

1/ Open bonnet, boot and drivers door and leave open. Remove ignition key

    2/ Disconnect battery.

    3/ Wait 15 minutes.

    4/ Reconnect battery.

Now im not promising this will work, but give it a shot anyway, disconnecting the battery allows the onboard system to reboot from scratch.

I had the same problem with my focus but it fixed itself after a day or two. I was just turning the car on and off til the light went off and then it just went off properly a couple of days later and hasn't happened in over a year
