Was thinking a bit about it this morning , as ye do and obviously Poulsen Lucas together are a big problem for us creatively. I think a good team to put out would be Reina Johnson, Carra , Agger, Konchesky Meireles, Gerrard, Cole, Jovanovic(Kuyt when available) Babel, Torres I think that could be a decent side with Gerrard operating a little more defensively minded than Cole ? Babel dropped off slightly where Gerrard has been playing ? Maybe this game against Utd wouldn't be the best game to go for it in but should be tried at home
Hope you're right mate, Konchesky looks like he will be fit for the Steaua game, so if Torres looks a bit more interested, and Meireles & Cole start then I might start to believe. All things considered, its been a tough start to the season fixture wise.
I'd like to think he'll put out a team thats good enough to have a go even. Mancs have had a shakey start to the season but then again they always do. They might have had an easier start fixture wise but you can see they are playing good football. Thats something that's only a rumour around Anfield these days. I dont know why Babel is being overlooked in peoples probable line ups. Jova has been given more of a chance to show what he can do this early in the season than Babel in his whole Anfield career. Im not a huge Babel fan but Jaysus give me him instead of Jovanovic everytime.
If you mean by who doesn't play then I'm with you on that one. I think & hope Roy will rest virtually everyone on Thursday.
I dont think Roy will rest to many on Thursday night to be honest, players need time to get used to each others way of playing ( especially the new lads ) so I woild pick a strong squad Thursday.

Why would he rest anyone on Thurs three weeks into the season. Get the 11 for Sunday on the pitch so they are familar with each other. As for Sunday, I can see us getting a point. It will be tough to watch though.

If that was your fantasy football team it could work but in reality I wouldn't even chance it against Northampton.
swap Gerrard to the right and put cole in the centre and thats the team I'd like to see, maybe Babel ahead of Jovanovic. Gerrard isnt diciplined enough to anchor midfield, if we lined up like above we'd get completly overrun in the centre and would get anhiliated.we need a defensive mid-masc type player in there,preferably one who can play a simple forwardpass wonder could agger do that job?
