This 'rumor' is showing its head again - yawn. While the source is weak (f365) they do state Roy is in talks with Hammers. I dunno what price we could be talking IF its true but anything over 2 million IMO is over priced. However he is English and English players go for more. I would still have a sniff back around Robbie Keane. The Hammers want him and if they offer 10million or so (proivding Roy has the money) I would definatly better their offer - just to see what 'arry and their board do. Id have Robbie back in a heart beat over any other get'able striker.
Mixed feelings on Cole but anything around £7m would be a decent signing imo .. but no thanks to Robbie @30 and £10m+... If we have £10m there's a lot better out there than Keane
No thanks for Keane , he'll piss his bed everytime he's subbed or left on the bench had his chance and didn't take it. Roy Hodgson wants a big target man and for what little money we have I think Cole fits what his looking for. Very little time left now so things need to start motoring soon.
Haven't seen too much of him, but I saw him against the Mancs either last season or the season before and he was brilliant against them, the United centre backs couldn't cope with him, then again thats only one game. I think for 7 million odd he would be worth a punt, the fact that he is English will make Roy sway more towards him. His goalscoring rate has never been great no matter where he has been, is a bit of a worry.
Liverpool’s search for a new striker has been exacerbated by an injury to David Ngog, who has been forced to withdraw from the France Under 21 squad. The French FA have been told Ngog has picked up a hamstring injury and cannot play in Euro Under 21 qualifiers against Ukraine and Malta. -
Think Cole is over rated and shit and with signing the likes of him and Konbchesky, we are getting shitter and shitter and shitter - they are west ham level players IMO nad nothing more.
Think Cole is about Europa League standard so until those American pricks **** off I guess that makes him a good signing.
we need a left back and a striker. konceskey deal makes sense, we dont have a lot of money so 3-4 million. if we could get carlton cole for a decent fee then im happy with that. someone mentioned konceskey signing is similar to steve finnan and i agree.
You'd get a Cole equivalent signing for 5-6 mill on the continent. There's an English Player premium. I'd fancy him to do well, I remember a lot of skepticism when Crouchy signed and he did ok after a dodgy start
Sign Fernando Llorente from Atletico Bilboa instead...Much better option in my opinion and we could flog them some one in a swap deal...
Thinking of recent transfers; Soldado, Eduardo, Ben Arfa.... or y'know Bebe!! BTW when I say equivalent I don't mean size etc. I mean quality
Roberto Soldado good shout..... think he went for £6m At this stage i hope we get somebody better than the yanks giving the money to RBS
