    Telegrapy today:
Liverpool reignite interest in signing West Ham's Scott Parker
Liverpool have renewed their attempts to sign West Ham midfielder Scott Parker with a deal understood to be dependent on whether Javier Mascherano makes his Anfield exit.

Always liked Parker since he was with Charlton. Mash must be on his way. I would like to see another striker AND left back if we get good money for Masch.
I've always tot Kuyt could do a Masch role in the middle. He'll run allday and put in blocks and tackles. Would have a better passing ability than Masch too.

did you see masch against ireland? pinging 30 yarders all day, Kuyt would not be anything like as affective as masch in that role IMO, his instinct is to get forward, masch just hunts down the ball and gets rid of it sharpish.

Yeah his instincts are to get forward. Be hard to hold him back. I just think he has so much energy and would run and run and run and run. But I suppose there is more to the role than that.

We have a stack load of players who can play the central midfield role even is Masher leaves. Lucas, Aqua, Poulsen, Gerrard. There is also Spearing and even Aurelio if we are down to the bare bones.

If though Aqua is not part of Roy's plans and is looking to offload, Parker would be a reasonable addition if Masher left as well.

why are we linked with so many midfielders parker is not good enough for me jst because he is english we get linked with him next itll be kevin nolan or joey barton its rubbish everyone knows we need a left back and a striker we had plenty of people to cover midfield so west ham can keep parker

He's too negative mate. Plays facing his own goal too much. I think there is a reason why he didnt a proper game a chelski and only managed a run at Charlton and West Ham.

The only reason I can see us being interested in him is because of the new squad rules - but I think were ok as far as player qualification is concerned

He wouldnt get a game at the Saints ffs ;)

Dont see any point in signing him after buying Poulsen....would prefer to buy Van Der Vaart now that Real got Ozil

Think left back and striker have to be where we strengthen, forget about midfield because we have a good few players capable of playing there. We haven't really been linked with a lot of strikers either compared to mifielders
