I saw on a forum on the official site:

Reports in Danish Media have reported that Poulsen has passed a medical at liverpool today and is expected to sign today or tomorrow.

(by all acounts there may be a delay in announcement as it may reduce valuation on Monster.......)

According the Liverpool Daily Post we cannot afford the fee for him unless we sell Mascherano....

That's the sad reality of where LFC is under the American's regime.

He hasn't played a game for LFC yet so let's see how shit he is when he kicks a ball for us.

He's probably just looking for a sub who wont moan about sitting on the bench.
Roy knows him personally too. No big deal

I'm not sure about him as a player but if he's being signed cause we're getting 30 mil for masch it could be a decent bit of business, provided the money will be reinvested in the squad
Masch is a scrapper (albeit a very good one) he works hard and breaks down attacks he's not like a viera, makalele or keane in their prime, a player who drives games. Poulsen isn't as good as him but between him and lucas we should have decent cover for the defenders. I wouldn't mind seeing Stevie play a bit deeper this season to shore up the midfield rather than off the striker as i think he is more effective with more of the pitch in front of him to work with. If the money goes towards a striker and a left back it could balance out the squad a lot better
But I suppose its a big if

I really dont want him, i dont like him, i dont rate him, and as ive said before, he gets booked too much and sent off too much..If he was any good, clubs would be racing to sign him..No thank you, but unfortuntely this is what we are subjected too..

The way I see it is beggars can't be choosers, I can't comment how shit he is just because others are saying he's shit I don't know, but just lets see and give him a chance, The manager wants him then back the manager, what I do like is he seems to be hated by alot of clubs , we need these type of wankers in our team that other fans hate because he will get on their tits alot, Jovanovic is one of these type of players too.

So far Ive been impressed by the people Roy has brought in so if he rates him I think we should all get behind him and back him. He knows who is best for the system he wants to play. Lets not get on his back like many have with Lucas it doesn't help the players performances at all. Its just piling on more pressure on them.

Plenty thought Mascherano was sh!t and a waste of space when we signed him but he didn't turn out so bad did he? There's just no patience anymore and if our next signing isn't a big marquee signing then lets just go and knock him and not give him a chance. Lad hasn't even signed yet (and judging by the link given by the OP its far from certain that it will ever happen) but lets all go off on one and moan and moan and moan and moan.

Have you written off Aquilani yet.At 18 million he was a far bigger risk and people me included are prepared to give him another season to prove himself. To be honest I no nothing about this lad apart from what's been said about him on this site.I'm still prepared to give Roy the benefit and will pass judgement once I've seen him play for us.

but ive seen poulsen and he is far from good enough for our squad but nowadays it doesnt matter about quailty.

when he was with seville i actually thought he was decent enough tbh. And i'm not 100% its roy thats pushing this signing - i think we were linked with poulsen in rafa's reign also and the only commondenominator is a certian chief scout we all love to mistrust. roy has said he knows the player having worked with him previously but he mightn't be his no.1 target either. Ditto for jovanovic.
i reckon roy's the kinda manager who'll take what he's given, work with what hehas and try get the best outta them. i'm not gonna write off poulsen b4 he's even been assigned a squad nuber. in all probability he mite be a replacement for lucas if palermo stump up the cash
