With little over 2 weeks to our first PL game, are we going to be signing a striker?

I know left back is priority number one at the moment but I don't think Jovanovic is going to be our second striker(behind Torres). Ngog is ideally a third choice striker at this stage.

Anyone think we are going to sign a striker and a recognised one at that who can stand in for Torres if and when injuries hit.

Suppose Dirk, Jova and Babel as well as Ngog will have to throw their hat in the ring and they are all capable on their day.

Cant see us signing anyone with the state the club is in and no striker worth his weight in gold will fancy playing 2nd fiddle to Nando anyway.

Cheeky punt on Klose or someone experienced like that would be nice. Premiershipwise Zamorra or Carlton Cole would do for me but being English their prices would be inflated. Maybe bring back God again!

Defo need another striker. Theres no way Torres will play the majority of games and the prospect of Ngog taking his place is very worrying indeed.

rumours that juve are having a fire sale - if trezuguet was available for around the 3m mark he'd be worth a punt. he maybe 32 or whatever but the guy still has decent pace, excellent touch and good header of the ball. i'm not sure if he has much left onhis contract, if he does then he'd prob cost more. still a superb finisher and if the fee was in the region of 3-4m i'd certainly see it is a decent value...i mean there were rumours of 30m for gerrard and he's 30

its obvious we have no money to buy a striker with, so no we wont b buying one.

Gonna have to make do with nando, ngog, jova and dirk, (maybe danny will get a few games)

He's probably gonna wait till the Masherano deal is done.
We need a striker badly. We have plenty of players who could possibly partner Nando but cant replace him when he's not playing

We don't need a striker all that badly, think Roy will have a different system that will not require a lone striker!

    Just my two cents!

We needed a striker last season and we havent brought one in so I think we definately still need one...not sure ho to be honest at the moment don't think we have sufficient funds to bring in anyone worth while so will prob have to wait and see what happens with the Macherano situation

Ok, so it may be a bit far out really, but now that Stevie is pushing on a bit, would he not be better suited towards a striking role.. I'm sure I'll be shot down for suggesting that, but with Cole to cover his role and Aquilani also, push Stevie on to partner Nando.. We already know they have a good connection.. Feel free to tear my suggestion apart (As I'm sure you will!)

He'd be pretty ineffective up there imo mate. Striker is a very specialist position and also probably the hardest position to play on a football pitch because you constantly have your back to goal. Plus I think we'd be taking our best player out of the game for long periods. We do need another striker though. I wouldn't mind crouch back to be honest. Probably get him cheap enough too.

imo it all depends on maschs sale, if masch goes we will have about 8-10m to spend on a striker if he doesnt then we have nando, dirk, babel, jovanovic, ngog to play there

We badly need a striker however it appears to me that Roy has a budget of nil. It's a farce.

Last season proved we have no top class back up for Torres. Babel, Kuyt, Jovanovic can probably all play up there, but they are not out and out front men. Ngog should probably be back up to the back up.

Trezuguet for me would be too injury prone. We should be looking for a experienced/reliable performer with a pretty clean injury record.

I would take a punt on Klose if he was interested in coming to the club.

Im hoping we're holding fire on buying a striker until all the takeover business is finished. Because we definitely need one.
