I just wanted to fill you in on the spike in membership just in case anybody has noticed.I got a email from Facebook last week saying you can now link your paypal account to a facebook advertising account, having never done this before and with a little bit of my poker bankroll (along with paddser's sweepstake winnings, you need to pm me so I can hook you up) sitting ideal in my paypal I decided to run a little campaign.

I have to say it has been very very successfully, for only 5 euro a day limit I set we have gone from getting an average of about 4/5 new members a day to getting close to 100 for the last 4 days the campaign has been running.

So I will keep it going for another few days.

Great thinking Paul. I am looking forward to becoming a dot.com millionaire when you float in a few years time.

Some time back there was a thread about how much a site is worth.

According to http://directory.sootle.com/website-worth/ IK is now worth $130,899

I wish,I think they just through out random numbers by latching onto the traffic stats.I am far from been a dot.com millionaire in fact the site has probably cost me well over 2k.

It would be great to find one of those sites that said IK was worth over a million,it would be a great to claim top be a millionaire.

Not at all I enjoy doing it,the ongoing monthly cost is very low for the moment.

The cost in real terms would be alot less when you conceder all the cheap flights and tickets I got helped out with is taken into consideration.

It's absolutely sound that you do this Paul, but would you consider doing what (I think) RAWK does - that is that people can donate to the running of the site. Of course if the upkeep is low (so you say), it doesn't need to be large - a few pound every few months. I think what RAWK do is that you pay a paypal amount every few months and they give you a custom title ("RAWK Supporter Legend"). I can understand it's a free forum and maybe people wouldn't appreciate me suggesting it - but it only need be a small amount to make sure you have no costs. If there ends up being a surplus it could be put toward "IK Supporter Legend" :))) funded things like maybe banners, nights out, HJC/HSFG donations etc.

Anyway, obviously your site but I don't post on any other LFC forum and I get a lot from here so I personally would be happy to give something back (at the very least that which means the site is not costing you). Just an idea.

Those ads for visitors bringing in any level of income at all or just pittance? I'm not looking for specifics obviously, but just wondering if it is starting to offset the costs at least.

Reminds me of Fannings wonderful quote about Ronnie - "In the devalued currencies of punditry, Whelan is the Zimbabwean dollar."
