    W***ers, thats their 2nd .5% hike in 9 months, all at a time when the ecb are keeping the rate low, when europe starts to rise their rates, the shit could hit the fan.

    It just goes to show that most banks are still safeguarding profits in the here and now rather than thinking long term

    €17 a month extra me hole

    Yes I go home everyday and before the kids get a hug the tracker mortgage contract gets a hug.

    What bank offered you that...?I have heard story's of people been offered cash but nothing concrete.

    Yeah me too but don't know anyone that was offered it, im on a tracker with TSB and if they offered me €37.5k i'd be very tempted

    If you're moving house you can still keep a tracker. If that's what you are doing. Don't put up with a bank telling you that you have to give it up.

    I heard one of these 'money men' on Newstalk a couple of months back say for the average mortgage the tracker would save you 90k over the lifetime.

    So if you bank contact you do the maths before you even conceder it.

    Yeah I heard that too, think Eddie Hobbs came out with it actually, but for €40k I'd have a real sweat on considering it
