    Breaking news Insua fee agreed

    http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/breaking-insua-fee-agreed

Liverpool have today agreed a fee for the sale of Emiliano Insua to Serie A side Fiorentina.

The left-back is now en route to Italy to discuss personal terms.

A club spokesman said: "We have agreed a fee for the sale of Emiliano Insua to Fiorentina and given them permission to speak with the player.

"Emiliano has now left our Swiss training camp and we'll make further comment when appropriate."

Insua arrived in January 2007 from Boca Juniors and has since played 62 games, with one goal to his name against Arsenal in last season's Carling Cup.

    Any idea how much?

No left back at all now? Wonder who Roy has his eye on? Dont trust Agger there for full season

Roys said he's been impressed with him as a player and a person and we have no other left backs at the club.Fcuking Purslow and his Championship Manager again.

Well if Hodgson was asked that question at a press conference he's hardly going to be quoted as saying "Well I actually think he's quite shite with absolutley no pace and his attitude pretty much stinks also". Its hardly going to attract a massive amount of interest or valuation to the lad if he doesn't big him up so of course the manager will say that.

I'm going to take a wait and see approach to this one. Yes we're losing out on a home grown player but if Hodgson gets funds to re-invest in a better quality player in that position then I'll be happy enough.

Well said Sean, people really wana get a reality check, its getting like RAWK on here. What are people thinking that Purslow has decided to sell the only left back at the club and told hodgson to just accept it, do people really think he'd accept that, Fiorentina made a bid for him in June, the club had to consider it given he has a year left on his contract and if were honest is'nt very good, but the final decision was Roy Hodgsons, he obviously does'nt rate him, and given his performance in Craven Cottage last Halloween I can understand that. And before people start on Yossi, it was a totally different situation that has been done to death.
All the best Insua, a very good pro but just has'nt made it in English game, hope he does well in Italy.
£5m for him is a bloody great price.

Its a decent sum. I reckon Roy could get a very good left back for that. Anyone have any suggestions who we should go for?

We'll get **** all cause every club in the world knows we need not one but two fullbacks, and one has to start, so we'll probably get some ****ing shite 30+ year old dodgy fullback he was lookign to get for fulham but **** it lets jsut buy them all for Liverpool anyway casue I'm sure they have the same needs and need the same kind of quality of player.

    Sweet ****ing chriiiiiiiiiisttttttttttttttttt

i think he'll just get the 1 first choice and hope Kelly and Agger cover.
Hodgson tends to stick to the same 11, thats why I was saying yesterday I wish we were'nt in Europe this year.

Fair comment , but we are in Europe .
Would have like the lad to get another season , even if i was pull my hair at time watching him last season.

Can Kelly play left back , though centre and right back ?

Still think the lads got pace running with the ball , just gets caught with his turn of pace , something i hoped would be worked on , but with finances as they are some luxury choices { giving a lad more time} got to be axed.

My god this is a ridiculous decision right now we need players and we have now just added a couple of million to the price of a left back as clubs will know we are desperate to fill this position now . Lets hope roy has a replacement lined up and signs him up quickly . I wonder could John arne riise be on his way back would love to see that and roy seems to love norwegian and scandanavian players

Joke of a move tbh, leaving us with not a single left back in the first team squad is moronic.
If there is add ons then we better have included a percentage of the next sell on fee as Insua could easily turn into a world class left back in Italy....the season before last he put in man of the match performances against Arsenal and Newcastle....last season was a bad season for the whole team and being thrown in the deep end didn't help him. In Italy the pace of the game will suit Emiliano more and I can easily see him becoming a big player in Europe with Fiorentina.....so a percentage of any sell on fee is a vital clause when you consider that he's only 21 at the moment.

Think when you take the clubs financial state on board , and Agger and Kelly can do a job there ... its understandable ....

Best to wait and see who comes in.Would have liked to see him given another 2 seasons ... but we don't have the luxury at present.

Roy Hodgson has thanked Emiliano Insua for the service he has given to Liverpool after a fee was agreed with Fiorentina for the defender.

The Argentine left-back is now heading home to discuss personal terms.

"Emiliano has left to go back to Liverpool," Hodgson told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"A deal has been struck with Fiorentina. We wish him well for the rest of his career and thank him for his time spent at Liverpool.

"I am expecting him to join Fiorentina next week."
