Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is ready to sign French striker Loic Remy in a £12million swoop. Hodgson has decided to move quickly in a bid to beat Spurs and West Ham to the young Nice attacker. He wants the deal tied up in the next few days. Remy has been chased by the Hammers for weeks but their failure to agree a fee has left the door open - so new Kop chief Hodgson is now pushing through with an offer. Tottenham chief Harry Redknapp is also considering Remy as he looks for a new striker but he would have to sell first so cannot join the auction yet. Hodgson would like Remy to fly in to Merseyside immediately and sign on before the deadline for the Europa League. The Anfield board are willing to give Hodgson cash. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/transfer-gossip/hodgson-kops-a-nice-guy
Never heard of him his goal-scoring record does not feel me with hope only thing is he wears No. 7 for Nice so maybe he will be our new number 7
Take every single name thrown in there with a pinch of salt ! I won't get excited or annoyed until i see them being unveiled
Haven't seen much of Loic Remy { Any before last night}..... but watched a few highlight games last night ... Nice 4 Lyon 1 , he scored 1 and set up 2 . Seems to play from the right a lot than up the middle as a striker. From the highlights he looks a very good player ? but highlights aren't enough imo. Looks very pacey and strong for a young lad...
Skysports.com can confirm Liverpool have made a move to sign French striker Loic Remy from under the noses of West Ham and Tottenham. New Reds boss Roy Hodgson has entered the race for the Nice ace and is hoping to beat his Premier League rivals to the forward's signature. Remy is regarded as one of the best young strikers in Europe after impressing at Nice over the last few seasons. The 23-year-old, who has been likened to Thierry Henry, scored 16 goals for Nice last season and has broken into the France national team. West Ham had been leading the chase for Remy after making a couple of sizeable offers for the striker, but they were unable to agree a fee with Nice. However, they could now lose out on Remy with Liverpool firming up their interest in the player with a bid. Liverpool's technical director Eduardo Macia is believed to have been tracking Remy for five years and he has recommended Hodgson make a move for the pacy hit-man. The Reds are in need of a new striker as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the Europa League deadline with Fernando Torres currently on the sidelines, leaving David Ngog as the only available forward for the start of the club's European campaign. Liverpool's financial director Philip Nash is believed to have raised the funds to enable the club to make their move as they look to win the race for the in-demand Frenchman. Remy's agent, Frederic Guerra, has admitted he has spoken to Liverpool about a possible move and that Remy would be keen on a switch to Anfield. "Yes, Liverpool are interested in Loic and Loic is interested in Liverpool," Guerra told skysports.com. "There has also been interest from West Ham and Tottenham and it is now up to Nice. "Loic has always said he is keen to play in England and Liverpool are a massive club. "I believe if Loic comes to England he will be a massive success. "He is like Thierry Henry, but I believe if he comes to England he could be even better than Henry. "He is a sensational player, he is very strong, very quick and two-footed. He is the complete player and Liverpool would love him."
Looks very positive I dont know anything about him myself but would be willing to give him a chance. My only worry is that Macia has been tracking him for past 5 years and his record is not the best in scouting players
Wouldn't say so ..... id say Roy's scouts at Fulham have but Fulham couldn't afford him.. Think this lad as been tracked by a lot of top clubs A.C. Milan with Arsenal also taking a serious look at the lad but went for Chamakh.
Loic Remy, March 24: "Arsenal are the club I want to join. I won't deny they are my priority. Arsenal are a young, ambitious side and I love to watch them play. It is the ideal place for me. I spoke with Thierry about them and asked him lots of questions about life there. That is because I have been an Arsenal fan since I was little. I was not disappointed with what he told me." Loic Remy, July 12: "I would like it to be sorted quickly. I've always loved the English league. I've always dreamed of playing in England. When a club like West Ham is on the cards, it's always interesting." Loic Remy, July 15: "It will be a choice between two clubs with big futures. I have a slight preference for a prestige club like Liverpool, even though Tottenham are also very, very interesting. Nothing has been decided. Wherever I play, I'll have to fight and work hard to win my place."
