Here are the odds from Paddy Power....

    Mourinho 4/1
    O’Neill 4/1
    Scolari 4/1
    Hiddink 10/1
    Shearer 12/1
    Allardyce 14/1
    Capello 14/1
    Redknapp 16/1
    Lippi 20/1
    Pearce 20/1
    Klinsmann 22/1
    Coppell 25/1
    Wenger 25/1
    Curbishley 25/1
    Rijkaard 28/1
    Hughess 33/1
    Venables 40/1
    Hitzfeld 40/1
    Jewell 40/1
    Benitez 50/1
    Van Basten 50/1
    Ferguson 50/1

Them there are loads of 'outside bets" such as Beckham & Sir Bobby Robson at 250/1 and Stan at 1000/1.

Im more worried about McClown being offered the Irish Job.

He ticks all the FAIs boxes.

    International management experience - Check
    Available - Check
    Crap/Cluless/Tactically inept - Check

    He's almost a shoe in!

I think the FA will not go for an Englishman this time, the simple fact is there is no Englishman good enough to take the job.If Big Sam had of stayed at Bolton he may have had a chance but he is in a big pile of dog poo up at Newcastle at the moment and I cant see the FA rescuing him.In saying that stranger things have happened.

I dont think its a case of Gobby Sam not doing well in the trophy free zone the problem is he is just trying to a cut and paste of his Bolton tactics with Newcastle and there are too many players at the club that can play football which is against his beliefs.

They arent scrappers which is what his tactics need. I hate him for the Irish job, its bad enough paying €50 a ticket to watch the lads try and play football in Croker and be rubbish but at least its football, I wouldnt pay that to watch us regress 20 years and be a long ball team

Apparently O'Neill expressed interest in this position before. I think he would be a favourite amongst the fans but if they dont get him, they will have to go for a big money foreigner. No englishman is up to it.

Shearer is a nob, the most smug gimp pundit I have ever seen on telly, getting paid millions to talk useless drivil that makes Frank Stapleton look like a genious.

He's way too comfy to take that job, and what was with that half finished suit last night?

Beside those who can, do, those who cant become pudits/critics.

I reckon it could be Klinsmann, he would play attacking attractive football but like Jose he may be a contender for the Bayern Munich job. What is Shearer's name doing there, u would swear he is the saviour!!!

Bad news in my opinion, he has won 9 league titles in 15 seasons. I think he could turn them around.

Its a very shrewd capture by the English FA - England could now be an real force at the next World Cup with him in charge.
