I posted this a couple of weeks ago in the off topic thread but was talking to a few of the lads yesterday and they missed this and suggested that I should post it in here.

Essentially a guy in the UK and regular on a poker forum over there gets others from the forum to invest in a syndicate for betting on premership games on betfair. Backing and laying it off before the game starts. By trading large amounts he's sure that they can make small amounts on each game and over the season turn a tidy profit.

Its going on for over a year and the fund is up to £145K (3 people having invested 10K each). But it turns out that the guy had robbed all the money and went off living the high life. Lots of pages, but well worth reading, gets very interesting from page 20 onwards

Fukking idiots.

that is unreal. You see some of the amounts being matched on betfair in World Cup games. Well over 30 million in most games.
