There was a very good article wrote by dion fanning in the indo last week, it was posted up here but for the life of me i cant find it. Anyway i sent him an email thanking him for his piece and paddser text me today to tell me it was published in yesterday's indo. Fair play to him for doing that we could do with a few more journalists like him on our side.

Anyway for any of ye that are interested here is what i sent him.

    Hi Dion

I just read your piece on Rafa Benitez and i just wanted to say thank you for an excellent and well balanced piece of journalism. Too many people in the media these days jump on a managers back as soon as things go wrong and never look into any mitigating circumstances. Your highlighting of the two owners and what they have done to the club is something a lot of your peers in both the print and tv media could do well to follow. Apart from my family Liverpool Football Club is my life and the way them owners have systematically and ruthlessly destroyed all the values that we base our proud tradition on absolutely kills me. Not too many other journalists go into details about the owners but my guess is its not as sensational as a headline that says gerrard will go if rafa stays and that sort of crap is what sells papers. If only other journalists would highlight the problems with the hierarchy at the club then maybe it would open up peoples eyes as to what really the problem is at the club and more people would join the fight to rid the club of the cancer that is destroying it.

Another point of note is not too many people have picked up on is the fact that we have a chelsea supporter as our chairman in a period where chelsea will certainly come calling for fernando torres this summer, Martin Broughton im sure is an honourable man but how professional of him was it to attend the chelsea end of season awards dinner when he is chairman of LFC, surely there is a massive conflict of interest.

    Thank You again
    Ger Kane

Fair play Ger. Top man is Dion in fairness, he's wrote many decent pieces on the club and Rafa over the years.
