City have just released him, along with Sylvinho and Benjani. I know he's injury prone but I reckon Petrov could prove a very good signing on a free

Petrov for me on his day would offer us something we haven't had much of - a direct, forward thinking winger and who can deliver a cross which beats the first man

Would defo be worth a punt on a free. 15 goals in 50 odd matches is decent for a midfielder.

Petrov could be a decent signing, Silvinho is gettin on now but I'd still take him if only to help bring Insua on a bit. Think Benjani is more of a headless chicken than Baros was.

would definitely take petrov on a free, snap him up, i'd say a few will be in for him, would also take benjani if his wages werent too demanding, god knows whats going to happen this summer so 2 free players might not be a bad place to start considering we dont know whose leaving

benjani would halt the progression of ngog. hes an ageing journeyman who wasnt good enough at man city or sunderland - hes not good enough for us!

They may be free but I wouldn't start adding to our wage bill with either Benjani or Silvinho. Petrov isn't anything to get excited about but would prob take him if his wage demands were reasonable

Has a club ever signed a player when there was no manager there?

Apart from a player that was on the way already.

I would love to sign Petrov but with our manager gone, our leading scout sacked and most of the back room staff probably on the way we are hardly going to sign anyone.

Like most, Id sign him too. Id sign Benjani too - not cos I think he is brilliant but cos I think I would prefer him to N'gog as backup ...

As for Sylvinho - Im surprised he got a permit to join city after his fake passport shenanigans in the past

If Petrov could stay injury free Yes please for a number of reasons..He is a decent left winger, something we are sorely missing..

He is a great dead ball specialist, something which we are missing too, as too many times last season we done nothing from Corners or free kicks...

He is essentially free, which is what all we can affoard at the moment..He brings experience too, to the party which is what we need too..I wouldnt take any of the other two mentioned though..But i think Petrov has potential and could do a job for us..
