Not sure of the answer on this one so pose it in two ways a) Who was the last officially named player manager and b) Who was the last player manager, stand in/temp/few months .. I think Vialli might have been the last temp player manager? Was Kenny the last official player manager?
vialli I'd say unless Chris Coleman was still playing when he took over Fulham but not sure. Or what about Southgate?
Think he hung up his boots when he was manager - but he could have been registered and just never played? Good suggestion?
Owen Coyle? Played for Burnley reserves while managing them last season so he must have been registered.
He was registered to play, as that was the loop hole in him bein allowed to manage without his uefa license and badges,. And I thought Coleman played a match or 2 then got injured, but that could have happened before he got given the reigns,.
Coyle would have been more recent but cant see him at, his age being a registered player? Could it have been a friendly for the ressies? Were they in Europe cos I though it was put to the league managers and the majority voted to allow him to manage with no badges? Didnt he keep them up and a manager who voted Yes to him managing went down (was it Stracan?)
Yeah that's correct,. Kenny was the only to win it too,. And he's the only player manager ever to do a double,.
