I think the team next season, could be alot of what we have got this season, with a few free transfer and a couple of young kids such as Jonjo and Danny Wilson thrown in there..

Where'd Maxi disappear off to? It'd be a nice team but you've undervalued Milner coming in and overvalued Yossi and El Zhar going out.

The biggest problem with this is that you're bringing in 4 and letting 8 leave which would deplete the squad to its bare bones. With Maxi there I see no reason for bringing in a new right mid and I'd keep Babel because with him Riera and Yossi gone there's no cover on the left.

Don't know much about Bastos but Vargas from Fiorentina wouldn't be a bad buy either.

Pav isn't a bad shout for a back up striker as there's not many who are willing to sit on the bench behind Torres but can perform when called upon.

Lads we just dont know what will happen over the Summer, we could have new owners by August and a new manager.Though the likely outcome is that we have the same useless g1ts in charge of the club and Rafa being held back by lack of funds.If we dont get new owners before the end of the world cup I could honestly see us losing one of Stevie/Torres or even both because they wont want to go through another season like last year.

My number one position to buy for would be left-full though.Insua has been destroyed on a regular basis and is the teams weak link.

That's tabloid filler at the moment and I wouldn't be too keen on letting Yossi go to a Tottenham if we're not trying to catch them as he's been one of our better attacking threats.

El Zhar is 24 in August so he's gone past the stage of being a kid now and he's done absolutely nothing at the club bar pack on a bit of weight and train.

Add in Carra, Maxi, fully fit Aqua, you have the basis of a strong first XI.

Don't know who new signings would be, but they could be funded by selling, Riera, Babel, El Zhar, Deggen and releasing Aurelio to free up wages.

Agreed we won't improve while the Yanks are still here. But our startin 11 is stronger than 7th place and it's unfortunate that we are so hurt bu injuries. Hopefully this new fella can come in and sort out our injury problems next season sause even that will make us stronger. And while the Yanks are still here the best we can hope for is gettin the best out of our current squad.

Not at all he's a great attacking threat and probably the best right back in England. We'd be mad to sell him because we'd probably just end up with a more defensively minded player which would take away from our game, our formation of the two defensive midfielders would word with two pacy wingbacks like Glen who will get forward.

Spain and France don't and in certain situations this season it probably would have been handy to have the option of putting two up front to break down defensive teams, which is something top sides rarely encounter in a World Cup past the group stage.

I agree the greek has done really well for us since he came. I just think that with carra agger and skrtel, and with ayala and the young lad wilson from rangers comin in we have enuf centre halfs, and could use the 1-2m fee we get for him and his wages would be more useful in gettin cover for another position, left back for example.

Havent a clue to be honest, saw 3 r 4 rangers matches this season and he was playin centre half in all of them but u could be right:confused: agger can fill in there as well but id prefer an out and out LB rather than sum1 fillin in. If insua is our 1st choice LB next season then we are in big trouble unless he improves a lot.

We definitely need a left back.I think Fabio is a fantastic footballer but he is just cursed with injuries and won't be around next season.Insua was hugely impressive when he first burst onto the scene and I thought he started the season well before going spectacularly downhill.People forget that he is still young though and was thrown in at the deep end in a hugely under-fire and under-performing team.Problems with positioning and mistakes were inevitable for a young full back still learning his trade but whereas the likes of Manchester United have the luxury of easing Rafael in and taking him out of the team and the spotlight for a bit when he makes an error to take the pressure off,we had no option but to play Insua week-in,week-out due to Fabio's and Agger's injuries.I think Insua's lack of confidence and tiredness became more and more apparent as the season wore on.I don't think he's a good enough left back for us in the short term but I certainly wouldn't be writing his Anfield career off yet.We don't need a wing back who's going to be bombing up and down the touchline-we have one of them on the opposite flank.What we need is a left sided Finnan or Arbeloa-someone who is solid and consistent and can defend first and foremost.Easier said than done,I know.



I also have a lot of time for Lucas and Kuyt and would have them in the team for the bigger games when we need a bit more graft-the same way the Mancs use Park and Fletcher.But I think for the majority of games when we have vastly superior players to the opposition we need a bit more flair with Aqua and Gerrard both playing and Maxi or Yossi on the wing instead of Dirk.They should still be very important squad players for us.

I think priorities for next season have to be left back and striker(backup). i reckon Leighton baines would do a decent job for us, consistent, young, homegrown, and not injury prone. I assume everyone will discredit this. Also everyone is picking a rafa formation.... If he leaves there's a good chance a new man would emply a 4-4-2. This would mean we would prob need a new 1st team striker!! Unless maybe a kuyt/torres or Babel/torres(posssibly a new man wouldn't pay babel out of position) partnership was given a go

Not even going to bother predicting who we're going to sign etc. cos we are skint to the point of depression and there are just so many variables between now and august.What I will say though,is that we still have a fcuking good team if we can sort out form and injuries to our key players:

I just love football manager but can see no bir changes coming at LFC in the summer. However if we have some cash we need a left back, left midfielder and striker at the very least. I'd really fancy a 4-4-2 formation with someone alongside Torres.

Yeah he's left footed apparently.Having played the likes of Yossi,Babel and Maxi out there of late and with Riera and Fabio on the way out I think we really need a naturally left footed player out there.It's way too predictable for the opposition knowing that they're going to cut inside every time.From the little I've seen and read,I don't think he's a proper left mid but would be comfortable on the left side of a 4-2-3-1 or as the central striker.Here's a little compolation of him playing against Romania a few months back.I know youtube can be misleading but he seems to have a bit of pace,strength and aggression about him anyway.Looks like he can beat a man too.

A 1st choice LB has to be a big priority especially now that fabio is gone. I dont think Insua is anywhere near as bad as made out to be. He was badly exposed last season, with no one steady infront of him to provide cover.
He was also never able to be took out of the team when his confidence was obviously shattered. Definitely has a future at the club in my book.
Belhadj could be cheapish option there and he could also play lw if required.

As for Mascherano after his learning Italian qoutes he can fcuk right off. I really dont care where this little mercenary goes now :mad: Him and tevez are little more then prozzies being touted around europe to the highest bidder. Sell him now for as much as possible.
I'd go all out for Javi Martinez as his replacement. Strong, quick, great engine & a decent shot on him. Reminds me of a young Gerrard actually.

Another forward is also needed but maybe not so badly if jovanovic is on the way. If jovanovic is got then maybe a winger? preferable one who can play both sides.

The most important thing is that any transfers out are concluded as soon as possible to allow the manager a chance to recruit replacements.
Given that I think we would have a very strong 1st eleven,capable of giving them all a game.

yeah I think most people here realise that we have 11 players strong enough to beat anyone but how often will we see that first 11?Our squad is still very weak. Nando seems to be crocked again, prob miss first few games of season. Hopefully we get a full season from Aqualiani and see Gerrard back to something like his best. Also hopy Roy throws Pacheco into this campaign, I deffo think he's good enough.

We badly need another striker though.
