Fook it, we may as well look ahead as look backwards...

    Insua and Babel suspended...

    Reina

    Johnson ... Carra ... Kyrgiakos ... Agger

    Maxi ... Gerrard ... Mascherano ... Yossi

    Torres ... Kuyt

Benfica are a bunch of fancy dans who had the ref on their side the other night.
They were poxed to win the game.

Hopefully we get a better officials for this, the set at Benfica were awful.

Yossi will need to make an appearance in this game.... was anonymous at Birmingham.

Probs Kuyt on the right so.....

With SG behind Torres, and Lucas beside Mash...

Cant really see it any other way.

I presume he will stick agger in left back, but ud never know with rafa :D
Also read today that saviola is definately out of the 2nd leg, and that luisao is a doubt. They have an away game in their league 2mro night which is good as well.

The ref was a homer in the first leg. Would be nice to get a homer in this game. But we only get a ref who is a homer when we play away.

Think we will win this game, but do think we need to score 3 if we want to go through in normal time.

In the first leg we never pushed on them after the first goal to try and kill off the tie. But that is nothing new for us.

Do fear this could be our last meaningful game this season.

    Reina
    Johnson Greek Agger Carra

    Kuyt Aquilani Masch Benni

    Gerrard

    Torres

Benni is in the team by default, he has been as ineffective as Riera and Babel this season.

We are going to have zero options from the bench (Lucas, El Zhar and Ngog) need to start very fast and be 2 up by half time.

with no lb available for this game im wondering if rafa will go with 3 centre backs, he normally springs it once or twice a year and it could be against benfica

    ----------------reina------------------

    ----Carra-------Greek--------Agger----

    ----------------Mascher---------------

    -Johnson-------Stevie---------Yossi--------

    ----------------Aquaman/kuyt-------------

    -----------------Nando---------------------

Prob a bit too attacking for rafa's liking but johnson will always drop into a full back position when we are on the back foot which leaves it a flexible 442 either

I would like to see Chris Mavinga given a go at left back soon, this could be a good game to play him.

Thinking that rafa will go with carra there.

From what Ive seen of Mavinga, he reminds me of Jimmy Traore....

Casual on the ball, doesn't chase back as much as he should..

But its been only a few games Ive seen... remainsto be seen if he's gonna be given a chance, and tbh, lb is a pretty big problem for us.

To be honest I have never even heard of this fella Chris Mavinga. Would be an improvement on Insua I would say anyway

    Stevie G/Aquilani

    Kuyt Stevie G/Aquilani Yossi

Benfica are player at 9pm tonight, away to a team in mid-table in the League.

Luisao has apparently travelled with team, even though he is rumoured to be carrying an injury.

Hopefully they can pick up a few injuries, it will be on some of the streams I'm sure.
