Just out of interest, if you were Capello, who would you bring?

    Mine would be:

    Goalie: Green, Hart, James
Defenders: Johnson, Wesley Brown, Ferdinand, Terry, A. Cole, Dawson, King, Warnock.
Midfielders: Lennon, A. Young, Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, A. Johnson. J. Cole, Milner.
    Strikers: Rooney, Defoe, Zamora, Crouch.

On standby: Paul Robinson, Micah Richards, Micky Carrick, Darren Bent.

    Ive an Interesting question ...

There will be load of lads on here who would have a smirk on their face if England get to the world cup final and be beat and lets be honest, we'd never hear the end of it.

But I wonder - if Stevie Gerrard was England captain, would you be cheering them on and happy to see him lift it as captain?

For me; Warnock is not good enough, A Johnson hasnt done enough, Zamora isnt a big game player.

I would really go for pace from the midfield up. No defenders in the world could deal with the likes of Lennon, Young, SW Philips, Walcott running at them the whole game.

    Providing all fit.

    Keeper: Green (1), Harte, James

Defence: Johnson, Brown, Ferdinand, Terry, Upson (if I couldnt convince Carra), Cheryls ex, Lescott.
Two can play RB, 4 can play CB, 2 can play LB.

Midfield: SWP, Lennon, Milner, Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, Young, Downing, Walcott
3 can play RM, 4 can play CM, nearly all can play LM.

    Strikers: Rooney, Crotch, Bent, Defoe.

    My starting team V USA
    - Green -
Johnson - Terry - Ferdinand - Cheryls ex
    Milner - Lampard - Barry - Walcott
    - Gerrard-
    - Rooney -

Just asking; so if it was Arg v Eng in the final, you would have a preference if Masca or Gerrard lifted the trophy - cos neither are playing for Liverpool at the time?

i've said it many times before, and i'll say it again - Englands achilles heel is their goalkeeper.

At that level Green, Hart, Robinson & James are all dodgy in their rights.
