Draw made tonight for this. Paddypower and Ladbrokes are the only bookies to offer match betting. It's an easy way of making money as matches are obvious. Can't wait for this to start...
Ballinteer St Johns v St Peregrines - touch and go
St Maurs v St Marys, Saggart - mary's should win this.
O Tooles v St Pats, Palmerstown - touch and go.
Raheny bye
Lucan Sarsfields v Clontarf - lucan all the way.
St Marks v St Vincents - vincents all the way.
St Brigids v Ballymun Kickhams - ballymun should win.
St Annes v Fingallians - annes.
UCD v Thomas Davis - hopefully thomas davis (hate them students).
Fingal Ravens v St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh - plunketts.
Whitehall Colmcile v Na Fianna - na fianna.
Nh Mearnóg v Templeogue Synge St - touch and go, maybe mearnog
Erins Isle v St Judes - judes.
Parnells v Kilmacud Crokes - crokes, but my upset of the round goes to parnells.
Round Tower, Clondalkin v St Sylvesters - sylvesters.
Ballyboden St Endas v Trinity Gaels - ballyboden.

i reckon Judes, Lucan, plunketts, and Mary's would be my 4 way Bankers from this round. Clayton is right, if ye know your Dublin football, its a great chance to make a few quid.
In last years champo, raheny were 4/6 to beat clontarf. Easiest money the whole Parish ever made!

What Accum would you suggest Clayton, who's you think would be the certs
clayton
24-03-2010, 10:43 AM
The bankers are as follows:
Plunketts
Vincents
Na Fianna
Sylvesters
Lucan
Neither of them will be beaten.
Marys played Maurs last year and marys only won by 2 points, i was at the game and maurs should have won - they missed 2 glorious goal chances. So i won't back that, although Marys should defo win this year.
Judes got to the final last year, but lost to Isles in this 2 years ago AND judes are missing o'Shea and Glover this year as they are away travelling, so i think that is dodgy.
Have a feeling Parnells with catch Crokes on the hop in the first round.
If you get 11/10 or even money for my accum above - LUMP ON
clayton
24-03-2010, 10:50 AM
just looking at Xabi's other one's
St Annes should beat Fins alright, i don't think i will back in it though if i am doing a large accum.
Ballyboden should also beat Trinity. But trinity are dodgy, and the current champs usually suffer hangover in the early rounds of this comp. (as there is a backdoor system)

the DCB [dublin county board] are beauts i must admit... The SFC has been put back a week because of Dublins involvement in the all ireland u-21 championship semi final.
But the gas thing is, the DCB fixed these SFC matches knowing that Dublin would quite possibly be playing the all ireland semi's that weekend. And that is what happened.
Anyway, bottom line is it's postponed until the week after now (or so i am told)

Nope, i am defo still going with the 5 teams i picked already.
I would advise people to back ballymun each way at 10/1, massively over priced, and are an excellent side.

ah don't ask, it's a f**ing joke at this stage. Dublin are in the all ireland u-21 final on may 1st, so the 21's manager (jim gavin) requested all games to be postponed because he doesn't want to risk injury for any of his players. And he is dead right IMO.

Naomh Fhionbarra yeah... doesn't matter though, i wrote it out in english. I had €400 on finbarrs (easy to say that now isn't it) but finbarrs are absolutely flying and plunketts are on a downward curve. Great to get info from inside both camps, and long may it continue.
thats a nice bet barry, brigids are 3/1 and finbarrs 11/8. that won't change either.
I didn't do inter no, this was my only bet of the evening. My nerves couldn't take both :) but looks like inter are thru, and i think the only thing that will mess them up now is a dodgy referee decision, because he has been poor so far.

28-04-2010, 08:39 PM
What made ya so sure to lump on so big?
ah i know a few of the Finbarrs players...... and they told me to :D
ah no, finbarrs won the junior champo last year, and also got to the leinster final. they are in division 2 this year and are unbeaten, playing savage so the lads told me.
plunketts are in division 3 and are not quite the team they were, they're on a downward curve.
the reason plunketts were fav's for this match is because the odds go as per last years c'ship and because finbarrs were in a lower c'ship, they made plunketts fav's. Even though finbarrs are a better and more in form team.
It's up to the likes of us, to take advantage of that.
Brigids was a different story. Brigids a young team, and Cuala normally flop in champo. That's what happened tonigh. But that match wasn't as straight forward as the Finbarrs match, hence why i lumped on the other.

You can make it up in the senior football next week Eegor.
A fella i know did a €5 accumalator on this last night and won €2,220.38 :
Erins Isle, Lucan Sarsfield, Naomh Fhionbarra, St. Brigids, O'Tooles all to win - and they all did.

clayton

Going to back Olafs myself.
Just note lads, that it is betting at the end of the day - so there is risk of loss. And if it continues to rain, it could make matches less easy to predict.
But Olafs at home, Isles haven't won out there in years. Olafs won their first match convincingly against Towers. The only reason Isles are fav's for this match is because they beat a strong Na Fianna team last week. But i was told that Na Fianna were missing one or two county players and that they were shocking.

Odds will be on powers web-site tonight, tomorrow morning
WED, MAY 12 (7.15)
Extra-time if necessary
SFC Parnell Park (6-45pm) Fingal Ravens vs St O. Plunketts ER Dermot Deasy Plunketts to have too much fire power for the Ravens
SFC Parnell Park (8-30pm) St Brigids vs Ballymun Kickhams Noel Cocoman Tough enough one to call, but you would have to go with Kickhams to beat Brigids
SFC OToole Park OTooles vs St Patricks (P) Garyowen McMahon Another toughie to call but on league form, you would have to go for Pats, who are doing well in AFL 2, while O'tooles are not doing so well in AFL 3
SFC St Margarets St Annes vs Fingallians Gary McCormack Annes should have too much for Fins
SFC Balgriffin 8-30pm St Marks vs St Vincents Philip Fitzsimons Vincents, handy enough
THURS, MAY 13 (7.15)
SFC Balgriffin Round Towers (C) vs St Sylvesters Tony Lambe Syl's are flying and should have too much for towers
SFC Druimnigh Erins Isle vs St Judes Dave Feeney last years beaten finalists Judes, should win this one
FRID, MAY 14 (7.15)
SFC Parnell Park (6-45pm) Parnells vs Kilmacud Crokes Karl Higgins Banana skin of the round if you ask me, Parnells should be around 4/1 to win this and i am going to back them in a single bet.
SFC Parnell Park (8-30pm) Ballyboden St Endas vs Trinity Gaels Brian OShea last years champos Boden should win this, albeit it could be a scrap
SFC OToole Park UCD vs Thomas Davis Paddy Kiernan damn students, you won't have any idea of what sort of team they will have out. Hopefully davis' win
SFC Newcastle Ballinteer St Johns vs St Peregrines Jim Turner very hard to call, peregrines.... just
SFC Russell Park Lucan Sarsfields vs Clontarf Keith Tighe lucan, no brainer
SFC Balgriffin (8-30pm) Whitehall Colmcille vs Na Fianna John Fagan na fianna, no brainer
SAT, MAY 15
SFC OToole Park (6-15pm) Naomh Mearnog vs Templeogue Synge St Dave Conway another toughie to call, i'll go with mearnog
SFC Naul (6-15pm) St Maurs vs St Marys (S) Mick Bissett i was at the game when these 2 met last year and it was a cracker. marys should win again

thanks for the heads up, i am aware of that and i won't be backing them again. But if they can't beat a team 2 divisions below them then they are rightly goosed.
Sure that lucan team gave a walk over against st vincents in the league a few weeks ago, thats the top flight of club GAA in Dublin - its incredible.
But still, i knew they'd have too much for Clontarf (just about).

did you not hear that about Vincents?? wait til you hear what happened here:
Liucan had lost both their first 2 league matches well, against isles and raheny. They were due to play vincents at home on the saturday evening in the league. The lucan manager texted his players and told them that the match was off that there was training at 8.30 instead. Low and behold one of the lucan players called up to their club house at 6.30 and saw a referee and vincents players warming up. He was like "WTF is going on here". Made a phone call, and found out that his manager had planned on just not showing up for the match and giving the 2 points to vincents in fear of a beating. Its disgraceful really, and shows that he has no faith in his team. I know they were missing some players so obviously had no faith in the lads replacing them. How he is still managing them i don't know... He's a well known figure in GAA circles (his name i won't mention) and is a top rated coach. And then goes and does something like this. Shocking to say the least

Yep, tonight at 7.30. Faughs & Ballinteer for me. Pats are missing a lot of players via injury, it was a Pats player that told me that. Plus they are a dual club while Faughs are hurling only, so they will be fresher... Ballinteer are going to win promotion to division 1, while Plunketts reside in Division 3 - not to mention that ballinteer are flying at the moment aswell.
Hopefully a handy double.

aH cROKES ARE CERTAINTIES LADS.
they should win alright, but with the volume of players they have injured, and they are playing one of the top up and coming teams in Dublin, Rush, i certainly wouldn't be backing Crokes, and especially at them odds.
na fianna were 4/6, now 1/4. raging i just didn't pour it all on to that 4/6.

Ah yeah Corkes odds are stupid but they are absolute certainties IMO. 100% and so they should be at that price.

Aye, they have the strenght in depth but they are missing Ross O’Carroll, Darren Magee, Paul Griffin, Mark Davoren, Pat Duggan and doubts over Rory O’Carroll.
I am not sure if you have seen Maurs play, they are a very very good side.

With Ladbrokes
Na Fianna 4/9
Ballyboden 1/7
St Peregrines 4/11
Thomas Davis 1/6
Pays At 7/4 And have 40 quid.
Was going go big on St Peregrines but at 4/11 not worth the risk.

plunketts beat sylvesters by 1 point, after extra time.
ucd beat templeogue by 2 points.
lucan beat raheny by 9 points.
I just need Peregrines to beat Whitehall tomorrow.
Plunketts by a point after extra time, holy jaysus they don't like making things easy on us do they.

betting is only for normal time mate, so i hope you didn't back Plunketts. I wouldn't touch them ever again, they let me down badly last year.

Peregrines drew wit whitehall. They missed a 30 yarder in front of posts wit last kick of game to win the game, sick. Need na fianna and towers to win today to get me out of that hole.
Dirty Peregrines, ah well mate, 'tis the nature of the beast & all that. Hopefully the other two came in for you today.

ties to be played on 7th and 8th of September:
1 Otooles v Trinity - local derby and should be a cracker. O'Tooles are in div. 3 and Trinity are in div. 1, so Trinity should win this one.
2 Templeogue Synge St. v Ballymun - Ballymun, easy.
3 Judes v Davis - tough one to call, judes were awful in 1st round against vincents but t.davis weren't convincing against Pats either. Judes to shade it.
4 BSJ v Marys - Marys should win this one.
5 Annes v Penguins - going for Annes here.
6 Syls v Fingallians - Sylvesters will have no problems with this one.
7 Raheny v Towers - slight preference for Raheny.
8 Maurs v Ravens - intriguing northside dual. Going for maurs as they are a very good side, and because i know that Ravens have a long long list of injury's.
Winners of above, play below teams on weekend 11th September.
1 v Na Fianna
2 v OPER
3 v Brigids
4 v Vins
5 v UCD
6 v Crokes
7 v Boden
8 v Lucan
BET - Ballymun, Annes, Sylvesters, Marys all to win.

Judes 2-13 Thomas Davis 1-11.
Ballymun 0-17 TSS 0-8.
Annes 0-12 Peregrines 1-10. Peregrines scored a penalty with last kick of the game, otherwise it would have been a clean sweep for me. Still up a lot more though, so happy days.

Fair play Clayton, had that double you tipped up last night with St Judes and Ballymun.
Betting on the 4 bankers this weekend are:
Na Fianna @ 1/2
Vincents @ 1/7
Ballyboden @ 1/10
Lucan @ 1/5
The acca pays just over 5/4 is that value or not?

absolutely! But if o' fooking tooles burn me once more i will go spare!!
I sincerely cannot see marys, raheny or ravens get near the other 3 consecutively. Ravens the only danger, but i know they are missing a lot of first teamers due to injury!
na fianna should have too much for o'tooles really. I mean, div. 1 vs. div 3 - come on.

I am going to go with the following teams to progress to the semi finals:
Ballyboden St Enda's (can't see Vincents win the midfield battle and Boden have just as much in other positions).
Kilmacud Crokes (will have too much for na fianna).
St Oliver Plunketts (will have too much for lucan sarsfields).
St Brigids (on a roll and i will take them to beat the students),
Bare in mind people that Crokes & Plunketts are the only 2 real bankers here. Don't be going mad on the other 2.

bet of the weekend, Portlaoise to beat Crokes, 11/8.
Portlaoise are at home, and Crokes are missing Corkery, Vaughan, Nolan, Griffin, Magee, Davoren and could well be without Rory O'Carroll. 7 of their best players.
