    Anyone ever been over?

Thinking of heading for the Friday which is ladies day and the Saturday for the national.

Only tickets left are tattersall's any idea what they are like?

haven't had a look at travel over in much detail but seems pricey enough. Will look in more detail over the weekend I'm sure I'll come up with something.

Possible second leg Europa league tie to contend with on the Thursday night which would be an added bonus!

Would love to go this year but have a wedding that weekend. My brother went twice and said it was savage craic. Apart from the National there are plenty of other big races.

Have been over a few times for it,and its brilliant craic..and Ladies day is not to be missed! Tattersalls is grand.there will be live music..and plenty of bars to top up! saturday will be more expensive than the friday..think its nearly double..but its two days well spent.

All booked up for this now well looking forward to it. Still need to get the Friday off work but should be ok.

Booked the flight over last week for the Thurs night 11pm knowing I was risking that we could be at home that night but it was well cheap.

If the 5:15 flight comes down in price I might book that to get to the game.

No idea how I'm getting home yet but we can worry about that later....maybe by helicopter if I win enough at Aintree

I headed to over to it in 2004 I think, the year Amberleigh House won the Grand National anyway.

Walked a bit of the course the day of the National, the fences they jump are something else.

Great laugh and ladies day is ridiculous - so many hot birds about, loads of hot aul ones too. All the birds dressed up in little skimpy skirts

After the races a good few of the jockeys & trainers would be in the Brittania drinking that night.

Only been the once, it was good craic. I headed up from London in the morning and back that evening - long day but good craic on the train having a few beers. You'll enjoy it. Im sure there will be a few famous faces you'll regognise. I was talking to David Platt for a minute the year I went - just happened to be stood beside him and passed info about who we were backing. Note: dont take any tips off David Platt!!

I only went to the National for the one day so Im not the best person to compare it to Cheltenham - but if I had a choice of either, I preferred Cheltenham.

True but the longer trip is what he is looking for so that's why I think the horse is 10/1 for the national.
