From the Echo... Nov 12 2007 EXCLUSIVE by Greg O'Keeffe, Liverpool Echo LIVERPOOL’S first sex club for swingers is set to open in the city centre. After getting the go-ahead from police and council bosses the club is scheduled to open its doors before Christmas. Today the owners said it was a venue for “like-minded†partner-swopping couples. Set out over three floors, the club boasts a bar, six private sex rooms, a sauna, steam room and relaxation area. HRH (Hurray Henrys) – named after its location in Henry Street, just off Duke Street – also features a room where couples can broadcast their activities on the internet. Today co-owner Jim Reid said: “It’s going to be a very classy club and I’m confident we will attract visitors from all over the UK and even Europe. “This isn’t going to be a seedy place – it will be a great place for like-minded couples to come to enjoy themselves.†Mr Reid said the club will have a strict over-21 policy and employ Security Industry Association (SIA) certified doormen. The owners said the majority of HRH people will be couples paying an annual membership and one-off visitor fees. But single women will be welcome along with a limited number of single men. Mr Reid said: “To anybody who objects to HRH I’d say that there is going to be a front door – people can either come through it or stay out. “If they don’t like what goes on they don’t have to be involved.†A pub in Southport started hosting swingers’ nights last month. The Victoria, on the Promenade, launched the Spills and Thrills swingers’ evening with an adults-only Hallowe’en theme. Organisers Iscream Ltd said the invitation-only event reflected the resort’s progression and catered for at least 200 Southport swingers aged 25 and over. And last year the ECHO reported how the Pussycats Pleasure Rooms club was hosting orgies in converted flats above a kinky lingerie store in Walton. Nearby residents objected to the Rice Lane business, which the owners claimed had more than 200 married and single members, including magistrates, councillors and a crown court judge.
The city is going down the swanny. Its becoming the Amsterdam of the UK. The Duke Street area is so quiet. I can only imagine the covert operations that will be in place to get people in and out of that establishment.

I wouldn't say its going down the swanny mate, if you don't want anything to do with this then just don't go to the club, everything will be done behind closed doors! As for Amsterdam, I like the place, and not for the sleaziness either! I don't see this establishment tarnishing Liverpool in any way whatsoever.
