Was told by a lad in work last year that if you you were going for a mortgage and a lot of online gambling deposits were showing up on your credit card statements that this would really jeopardise your chance of being approved. Would this be true?
YES i know a lad who was refused a loan (not a mortgage) because he played on-line poker every night. i have to stop myself, it's just too handy.
i wonder could you say to the bank manager to look at my deposit to withdrawl ratio. I'm in the green i think you can get betfair to post you out a cheque.
some bookies take cash over the counter to load your account and will pay out aswell after you fill out a form
Once you pay your bills and have no outstanding letters or anything they can't discriminate towards you they won't care once it's been paid!
you sure about that? the one thing about the credit card is that it has never gone into red. have always cleared by direct debit end of the month.
Yes and that's what they will look at in there overview that you alway's pay your debts no matter what they are I'm sure.
If your planning on applying for a mortgage would you not try getting a new card, cancel the current one and say nothing? When I got my mortgage I just said I didnt have a credit card (which was 1 of many little lies)
or else the bank manager could say - your a rambler your a gambler. your a long way from getting your home.
none i don't think. i used to do with with boyles and i think ladbrokes/paddys not sure what one but its a good while since i last done it. with boyles you just ask at the counter for a slip and fill in your account details and they'll ring it in for you.
Used to work in the 'credit industry' for my sins, any gambling evidence at all was an automatic decline. Lenders are under no obligation to give reasons for declining credit applications. But asking for credit card statements wasn't the norm before.
Heard this too from My girlfriend who went for a mortage a few years ago too.. She was telling me some of the things they look into, and they said they check your bank balances too...
my PP a/c is set-up with my current account, laser card. must sort that out, as i'll probably have a lot of persuading to do with the bank manager
