strongest available team must be played, a trophy is a trophy and these are not a team of mugs, gerrard with lucas or masch in the centre, with Aqualani off Babel or Ngog, would want to have a 2 goal lead before we head off on the away leg aka Seans stags, oh yeah!

For money I think (most likey Portugese TV). Some respect they show for their fans with a ridiculas kick off time.

As soon as Trevor Welch opens his fat mouth on Thursday its gonna hit home that we are out of the CL and I will cry.

I'd go with 8 or 9 regulars and 2 or 3 fringe players. Sunday is way more important than this.

Because I doubt Merseyside police would be all that happy about us and them playing at home on the same night.

Based on Rafa's approach to this competition with Valencia in 2004 he will play as much a 2nd team as possible. Did this up until the quarter-finals with them back then until they lost away to a Turkish team and he changed his tune after that. With Man City game on 3 days after lets just say I'm not expecting our first eleven by any stretch.

An earlier than usual 4:20pm flight to JL and a later start of 8:05pm means getting more gargle in beforehand as well :)

    Doh ....

priority with co efficients should have = Tuesday for us ;) , suppose we should have had a FA CUP game on Saturday but still think Tuesday would have better even if we would have been playing Saturday?

not to bad imo .... or to be taken lightly ...

Sevilla FC 2 - 0 Unirea Urziceni UEFA Champions League
Unirea Urziceni 1 - 1 VfB Stuttgart UEFA Champions League
Rangers 1 - 4 Unirea Urziceni UEFA Champions League
Unirea Urziceni 1 - 1 Rangers UEFA Champions League
Unirea Urziceni 1 - 0 Sevilla FC UEFA Champions League
Stuttgart 3 - 1 Unirea Urziceni UEFA Champions League

    Pld W D L GS GA GD P
    Sevilla 6 4 1 1 11 4 +7 13
    Stuttgart 6 2 3 1 9 7 +2 9
    Unirea Urziceni 6 2 2 2 8 8 0 8
    Rangers 6 0 2 4 4 13 −8 2

Unlucky not to be in KO stages of the champions league ..... the draw v Stuttgart at home cost them ... even more so the Rangers game at home after beating Rangers 4-1 away

The way things are going, it could go anyway. As long as he puts out a good side.

Would rather go all out for 4th place and forget about this trophy. Not worth the risk of missing out on fourth because of it.
Last year Villa put out a reserve side to concentrate on going for 4th and no english channel screened the 2nd leg live. Channel 5 said the early kick off (5.30pm) would disrupt neighbours and home and away.

What happens if we pick up injuries in this competition and 4th place is ultimately lost because of it? Not worth it imo for such a meaningless trophy.
