Big big derby. Win and finishing 3rd could become a possibilty, lose and our season could spiral out of control again.

Quietly confident Stevie is gonna drag us to 3 points :)

Jaysus Bob starting this 1 early, scrappy game as normal in these games, hopefully Mascherano and Lucas get stuck in and we get any sort of win, performance does'nt matter in this game just a result against these horrible shower.

I'm afraid I would go with Lucas all the way. Aqua would be kicked to pieces in a game like this.

I havn't been a fan of the Mascherano/Lucas mid field myself but I think that's what I'd go for in this game. It worked when we played them earlier in the season. Make the change later on in the game and bring on Aqua if it's not working

He has to be played in these games, he cost 20mill for crying out loud.

Apart from the Europa league, theres not much point in keeping Aqua wrapped up in cotton wool, he was bought as an attacking midfielder to unlock defences, we need Aqua more than Lucas against well organised teams.

+ were at Anfield, we cannot be handing the midfield initiative to the opposition.

Good man Bobby great to see ya keep the run goin at the weekend.

    Would go with:
    Reina
    Carra Kyriagkos Skrtel Insua
    Aqualani Macherano
    Maxi Gerrard Riera
    Kuyt

Kuyt is scoring goals so would like to see him start and a start for Maxi. Think we should attack so would go for Aqualani instead of Lucas.

The Greek will be useful in this one, using his heading prowess against Cahill and his strenght will be needed too.

If superstition works for you, so be it. :)

I'd prefer seeing our manager picking the right team with the right mentality, and the players getting out there doing their jobs correctly tbh.

i'll be amazed if lucas does'nt start lads and imo i think he should.it,s going to be a physical 100mph match and i dont think aquilani is ready for it yet.that,s not a criticism of the chap by the way.the premiership is very hard to adapt to for a fit lad coming in never mind a lad who,s been out injured for a year.i think rafa will start degen on the right side of midfield also.

100% convinced Lucas will start the match. Id rather he went with Aquilani though. Too many times i've read posts about how he's not suited to this game or that cause of being kicked around. If thats the case then he should never have been bought in the first place.

I say get him in there. Everton should be worried about our midfield not the other way round which is exactly what Rafa will be thinking when he starts Lucas.

This is why low confidence and confusion constantly runs through the team this season.

Anyway rant over & i hope we pick up 3 points this Saturday. We're more than capable of winning this one & if we do it would be nice to see them put pressure on 3rd place Arsenal as they travel across to stamford bridge the next day.
