Lay off Lucas the lads improving, your new here I see but try to keep to the Liverpool way and support the lad he's been solid enough this year and if you need more convincing read Tomkins piece on the official site.

Enough of that anyway yeah I am surprised we didn't sign a striker but maybe it's because we have someone lined up for the summer and nobody is too keen on covering a few games till Torres is fit in a World Cup year

would have liked a striker, but we knew rafa had no money, and im happy we did not get jones, i just hope to god there'll be money come summer, but over all getting a player like maxi in on a free was a great bis by rafa, maxi is a good player, i hope to see him play on the wing from now till may

Reports are coming out that we spend 7 million euro on Vasilis Torosidis? Dunno how true they are but hope they are not because what are we doing getting another right back if we could of spend 7 million euro on a striker, we have few injuries are rightback at moment but bloody hell we have Ngog and Kuyt upfront only at moment and rightback we have Degen for moment who is playing well and then Carra can play there and Darby aswell,

That's if reports are true that we had 7 million euro to spend and we ****ing spend it on another right back

It's hard to say why Rafa didn't buy or loan a striker. I reckon he made an enquiry about Jones/Huntelaar and couldn't get them on loan. Then there probably wasn't any other decent strikers available so he didn't bother and he's right because we don't need to waste money on any more stop gap players

Is exactly what I reckon happened.Wanted another striker, enquired about another striker, but when the players he wanted weren't available he didn't bother panic buying just for the sake of it.Fair enough imo.

I do agree with the point that if the right man is not available, theres nothing he can do. I do think he should have made a move for Van Nistelrooy though, however maybe his wage demands were too high. Also Gudjohnson would have been a decent purchase.

We've been a quality striker short for the past year and 2 transfer windows have passed by now and it hasn't been rectified.

Keane gone and not replaced, now Voronin gone and not replaced, Babel hugely out of favour and Nando injured again. We're relying on our right winger up front and whether its Rafa or the owners fault, thats not good enough

Barring the header for Kuyt. Lucas in 20 mins contributed more to the game than Aquilani in 70 mins.

Whats Lucas got to do with strikers, does the lad need to be top scorer aswell no for some credit.?

It was reported on Greek radio on February 1st 2010 that he was to join English Premier League club Liverpool. The report advised that the deal would be a six month loan deal for an initial fee, and after this period Liverpool are to pay in the region of €7m for the player should they wish to take up the option of a permanent move. He is bought as a temporary cover for Glen Johnson A report later in the day from Laikos FM in Greece suggested Liverpool F.C. were working hard to complete the transfer before the English transfer window deadline. Officials were hopeful the deal would go through on February 1st."

Transfer window is closed lads so no permanent or loan deals can be done now from anywhere. The only player you could sign is someone out of contract.

The only exception is an emergency loan deal which is very rare.
