Another disgraceful story coming out of Italy, as a Lazio fan was shot dead today during an incident between Juventus and Lazio fans.

ive been to games all over the world now , boca, flamengo(althought that was rough too), milan derbies, germany spain US and still have seen nothing like the hooliganism in italy. they are absolutely f*cking off their head. The night we played roma in 2000 in uefa cup was the most dangerous i ever saw it. i lived over there at the time and for weeks the press ran reports about the english hooligans coming to rome. they went to town on us. i had the police jumped on me and snatched my camera during the day trying to get a reaction from me.
Then standing beside fans with stab wounds in the ground and having bottles of piss and coins thrown at us for 90 minutes as the police just sat there watching them. Being kept in the ground til 12.30 that night til they cleared the romans outside where there were cars on fire everywhere and thats just the half of it.
    Sono tutti filgli di putani!!!!!

Man that's crazy. I know we're all passionate about our football but my God it's still "just a game". What the hell is wrong with these people. Juventus and Lazio aren't even local rivals. Fair enough they both have title ambitions but that doesn't even begin to explain this form of rivalry. It's still not worse than the Juventus/Fiorentina situation though. I was over there for one of those games. I didn't even go to the game even though I had tickets. There were clashes all over Turin between those "fans". I was so scared for my life that I flew back home that same. Couches with the players passed us and the Juve fans started bombarding the couch with whatever they could get their hands on. Cafe chairs, rubbish bins .. everything.

Sorry for going a little away from the Lazio situation here but I thought as I experienced it first hand I'd tell ya'll how bad it can get over there. If I ever go to Italy again it'll be to soon.

Woooo there jocksers, that a bit strong!

I spent a few months in Rome and went to a few Lazio games. Politcs runs right through football and life in Italy. Rome has political and football related graffiti everywhere. Going to games is a lot different than going to a Liverpool game but the atmosphere is unique and superb in so many ways.

Lets hope they clean up their act, sooner rather than later.

Mods : Possiamo giurare in italiano qui, sì?

I spoke to LFC fan's who were stabbed in the arse by Roma fans who would approach them on mopeds, the passanger would carry a knife and stab LFC fan's as they were passing.

I was at the Inter v Messina game last season. There is a divide between the Inter fan base themselves and they were fighting with 'each other' before and after the game. They stay at opposite ends of the grounds too. The rougher crowd are the ones who threw all the fire works onto the pitch in the knock out stages v’s AC Milan in 2005 (the game that Cheating Dida did another dive ’ish)

I saw a promgramme a few years ago about Lazio and how the hooligan fans had a say in transfers etc. When Thuram was leaving Parma he had talks with Lazio before he joined Juve. The club said he had to meet the right wing fans group because he black, so they could make sure he could play for them. The only other black player at the club was Aaron Winter and he suffered a lot of abuse from his own fans.

It then followed them as they were setting up a Riot with Roma fans a few weeks later. It was like watching a commander giving instructions to people going to war. A guy had a megaphone shouting all this guff during the match, these guys did not even have to pay in.

William Gaillard called us that, UEFA'S official gobsh!te. He probably still holds a grudge over us getting that extra CL place in 2005, after telling anyone who would listen that we wouldn't get it. Wonder what he makes of the incident/reaction in Italy? A minor thing?
