I have been a bit under the weather lately but am coming around now,I have been having a look at the 'How is our Driving' Thread and am going to get cracking on some suggestions. The simplest one is the Use ranks,fire away and we will see what comes back. Here is the suggestion from Sean....
Also here is the post count they go up at now.... 1 11 50 150 250 500 I think we definitely need to change this.
Think these post counts are low considering the amount of posters who are above 1000 posts and right up to 5000+ posts Top mark should be closer to the highest poster at moment imo
well on raotl they have it as players not sure what order it goes in but say for your first ten posts your down as ryan babel(dont think they use him but just for example here) and when you get up over the top amount your king kenny or someone of similar staure
Do we really need these names? on sites where I roam they dont have them at all..maybe it should be about what you say rather than the number of posts?
Maybe once you reach a certain number of posts you could choose your own, say 5,000 or so,. or have player names, or stuff like, noob, all the way upto all knowing poster or something of the sort,.
In some places alright though it can be good for a laugh. On other boards it's by far the funniest when someone gets given a personal one. I think it's a good idea if things like user titles are used well in a forum because it can create banter between members. One of the best ideas I've seen on a forum was a gambling system. Everybody had a set amount of points starting off, there was a gambling section and a bookie. The bookie would post up matches and odds and people used to bet, if you gained enough points you could exchange it for things like changing your user title and other things like that(I think changing a friends was another thing you could buy for alot of points...I remember you could actually get cool handy stuff like the bookie was giving away 1 month rapidshare memberships for enough points etc. but obviously this couldn't apply to IK!) I don't know how this system was done, but like in our accounts when we signed in we had our username and the amount of points we had. It really added alot of fun to the forum.
I just went back to that old forum and the gamble feature is gone, aswell as nearly everyone on the forum! it used to be buzzing, theynd is what it's called...it's pretty much an off topic section aswell as aload of p*rn and warez now....sad to see! Seriously tho', I'm sure that site wasn't the first to do the gambling system and I'm just remembering how awesome it was.
