    Any Bets?

I am going with Mali Win Group A African Nations 11/4 (Ladbrokes) and
Mali To win African Nations Cup 25/1 (Ladbrokes) e/w

Really Fancy Mali to do some damage have an easy enough group and if win it should avoid Ivory Coast. They have some quality players Mahamadou Diarra, Keita, Momo Sissoko, Kanoute being the Main man. Will be getting on the 11/4, they have Angola, Malawi and Algeria in the group.

For Top Goalscorer Moumouni Dagano at 66/1 e/w (4 Places up for Grabs) He plays for Burkina Faso who should finish in 2nd behind Ivory Coast, Dagano was top goal scorer from qualifing with 12 goals in both rounds, 3 ahead of 2nd place Eto,

    1st Round Matches

Mali should beat Angola, Angola are at home as they are the hosts but they are brutal and 9/4 offer is top price. Draw no bet at 11/8

Algeria should be all to good for Malawi at 8/13 looks good value.

Togo at 6/1 could cause the shock against Ghana, Ghana have took with them a look of youngers and the squad doesn't look that good, Togo have some good players in there and have Adebayor

I'll be having a punt on Cameroon as outright winners, seen them at 5/1 on PP, haven't had a chance to shop around much for better value yet. Will also be having an each way bet on them in the World Cup in the summer, to me they look the most likely out of all the African teams to do something special at that tournament.

Some good tips in there. Slightly wary about that Mali tip against Angola though, the hosts have drawn with Cameroon and Ghana in the past 3 months so they could spring a surprise against Mali. Granted it wasn't Ghana's full starting team that was out there but with Angola playing on home turf they could come good on the odd occassion.

Some start to the tournament tonight. With 11 minutes of the opening game remaining the hosts Angola led Mali 4-0. Final score was 4-4.

I had few quid on the Mali draw no bet at 11/8 :( really fancied Mali for this tournment but their defending is shocking, if someone had offered me 50p for my betting slip with 50 quid on at draw no bet I would off took it when that 4th goal hit the net lol.

The draw was at 479/1 on betfair when the 4th goal went in, Imagine having even the limit of 2 quid on

Mali looking in all sorts of trouble now after losing 0-1 to Algeria today - haven't shown up for this tournament at all so far. A win against Malawi might save them but only if the game between Angola and Algeria doesn't end up as a draw, which if I was betting on it I feel it might just end up all square.

As feared, both sides played for a draw. Last 20 mins were an absolute disgrace with both sides just passing the ball amonst their respective defenses unchallenged by the opposition. Algeria can no longer feel all that upset about that Germany/Austria result from the 1982 World Cup.
