No Stephen Ireland then...

Pretty decent squad, nice to see Stephen Reid back in the reckoning. Wales will miss Bellamy as well so hopefully we take full advantage of that.

Hope he gets his head right, he would be very useful and as we know when he has played, he knows how to hit the onion bag regulary

From listening to Don Givens yesterday it sounds like he doesn't want to be dealing with the hassle of Stephen Ireland and is happy to stand aside and let the next manager sort it out. When the new manager gets appointed the first thing he should do is get on a plane to Manchester and sort this thing out once and for all.

Why should the new manager get on a plane, Stephen Ireland should be the one getting on a plane after abandoning his country. If hes not bothered about playing for his country let him stay in manc land.

The word is Richard Dunne is pissed off with Ireland for not turning up in the last match and for pulling out of this one.

He looked like a player who was in good form last weekend, he done himself no favours by pulling that stunt then saying he is not in the 'right frame of mind' to play for Ireland.

Would have been an ideal game for him to come back, no pressure at all. Hope he gets it all sorted, he is a decent outfit.

Mark hughes is not happy that he included Steven Reid has been included in squad he says he's not ready so dont count on him playing.

As far as Ireland goes, he should never be allowed to play for his Country Again!! He thinks hes bigger than his country! P****.
Good player though>

Reid has been pulled out bu Hughes, was very suprised to see him in there in the first place. I have so little interest in this game, its worse than a friendly.

Why did we go to so much hassel with FIFA to ensure Darren Gibson was ok to play with us then to not bring him into the squad!! Same old story with that kid from Tottenham (Dixon??). Sure why dont we wait for England to come calling so we can loose another hot prospect!

Yeah, it does seem like Stan only put Gibson on in Solvakia to piss off the North. Sums up his management really.... The image that will live with me forever will be off Stan making faces behind Ray Houghtons face before the Germany match last year. From that moment on, I lost all hope!!!

Maybe the lads ego thinks he has created his own little Sipan, after all not the first Corkman to do it. Maybe Roy is planning his own little break away international team 'and we won't pick any of those F**kers from Dublin'.

Finnan should pull out we're not gona qualify so it's a nothing game and it's known he's going to retire from internationals as soon as the campaign is over, if he retire's now at least he can say with his last kick of a ball for Ireland he saved our bacon against Cyprus. And most important less chance of injury, to many of our players Agger Torres Alonso all injured while on international duty this season.

I was listening to Finnan on Newstalk a few weeks ago and he said he would continue to play for Ireland as long as he was fit and the manager wanted him in the squad. He would be a massive loss, along with Dunne he was the best player throughout the qualifiers. Carr is always injured and when he does play, he is crap, O Shea even worse. Joey o Brien and Stephen Kelly are decent players, but nowhere near Finnan's level.

It's obvious he's one of our better players, but also a lad with some serious personal issues. Why shouldn't the new manager get over there and talk to him? Nothing to be achieved or gained by ignoring him is there.

He doesn't seem to have many serious personal issues at three o clock every Saturday!
