With Liverpool braced for a physical examination at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, it’s unlikely Aquilani will be risked at Ewood Park.

Rafa has earmarked Liverpool’s Champions League dead rubber against Fiorentina as the long-awaited full debut of Alberto Aquilani

    Reina
    Magic Cara Agger Aurelio
    Masch Lucas
    Yossi Gerrard Riera
    Ngog

Think Kuyt could do with a rest and come on from the bench if needed ...
but more than likely he will start .

3 points please and hopefully a better performance than last week ..

With Kuyt having scored and no midweek game I think he'll have enough of a rest and hopefully have a bit of confidence back. He's the perfect man to play up front against Blackburn imo but he'll probably be on the wing.

Screw the preformance for the minute, lets just get a win one way or another. Need to get that winning habit back. We can worry about the sexy football later

Exactly Daz..i wont be expecting sexy football this week but as long as we have 3 points at the end of game ill be happy..we will need to win a few on the bounce to get the confidence back in our play imo

I would start with Kuyt up front. Ngog is a game lad, but Samba and Nelson will kick him all over the shop. Ngog still looks a bit leightweight and Kuyt could do a job holding it up. Riera looked bright when he came on but not so sure he will be up for the scrap, however would go with him and Aurelio. Insua has got run ragged in the last two games by Shaun Wright Philips and to a lesser extent Peinaar.

Ideal scenario would be to have Nando back, Kuyt on the right and Yossi on the left.

i couldn't agree more. wins is what we need. by any means necessary. getting back to back wins against Blackburn and Arsenal would see us looking a lot more healthy in the table.

then you have wigan, pompey and wolves where maybe we can look for a bit more flair.

This will be very tough, Fat Sam will be going on about hand gestures and other crap like that trying to stoke up his players

It'll be scrappy but as long as we get the 3 points who cares

Is this game on tv this weekend?

Looks like the kid could be back:

Fernando Torres could make his long-awaited return for Liverpool at Blackburn this weekend.

The Spanish striker is back in training after missing the last three games with a niggling groin problem.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez insists Torres is making good progress and he could be in line for a return to action for this weekend's trip to Ewood Park.

"The feedback we had about Torres yesterday was very positive and he was feeling good," he said.

"We will see how he is in the next training sessions, but it seems as though things are going well."

Benitez will not rush any decision on Torres and will see how he reacts later this week.

"It depends on how he feels during the week," said Benitez when asked if the striker would face Blackburn.

"He has to keep training with the fitness coach, but if he is feeling better maybe he can be involved in normal training sessions and afterwards we can decide."

Benitez has reported no other injury problems and is hopeful of having a fully fit squad to tackle Blackburn.

"We have two or three players with knocks, but hopefully they are small things," added Benitez.

"It is always very positive (to have a fully fit squad), but there is a big difference in players being available and being ready.

"When they are coming back from injuries you have to be careful, but at least we will have options we didn't have before."

I wonder what the chances of seeing Aquilaini, Gerrard and Torres starting on Saturday? Would love to see them together. My team for Sat

    Reina
    Johnson Cara Agger Aureilo

    Benayoun Mash Aqulaini Reira

    Gerrard
    Torres

Cant see Rafa dropping Insua, Kuyt or Lucas so it will prob be the same team which started against the bitters, maybe with Torres comming in for Ngog if he is fit.

That's a deadly team, even swapping benny for riera, but I agree kuyt hasn't been great. Hopefully the goal will do his confidence good
