The Florida Highway Patrol says the PGA star hit a fire hydrant and a tree as he pulled out of his driveway early Friday in his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle. Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital. His condition was not immediately known, though the news release said his injuries were serious. The highway patrol says the crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending. However, the highway patrol said the crash was not alcohol-related.
Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol just reported. Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor's property, FHP reported. Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released. A Health Central hospital employee said at 2:30 p.m. that Woods was not a patient. A hospital operator would not say if Woods had been treated and released. FHP said the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph. Orange County Fire Rescue received the call for aid at 2:28 a.m. Woods was transported from his Windermere-area neighborhood by the hospital's own ambulance. Accoding to the local mayor he has been released from hospital with facial lacerations! Good news, thankfully!
Why say serious injuries,then 5 mins later he's out the door with a few cuts to the grid,something stange about it all.
Think the story is not as serious as first reported. The local Florida Paper are now reporting. Officials close to accident investigation told the Orlando Sentinel that Woods received facial lacerations. He was treated at Health Central early this morning and released. I musr say I am very releaved.
On Newstalk tonight that was the key point the US reporter was making...Woods is notorious for guarding his privacy although stories occassionaly crop up with his love of Vegas & high octane gambling..any tittle tattle about him will make the headlines..still 2.30am makes you wonder..

Tiger Woods did not suffer facial lacerations from a car accident. They were inflicted by his wife, Elin Nordegren -- according to a conversation Woods had Friday after the accident. Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant. We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club. We're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree. We're also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene.
'According to reports Woods has been sleeping with a brunette identified as Rachel Uchitel. Those reports come from the National Enquirer and have also been reported on at The Huffington Post. Although at this time nothing has been confirmed.' This is madness, the morning after the news the web is a wash with this rumours and stories. Will be interesting to see what comes out from the Woods camp but there has to be more than what meets the eye in this one. He hits a water hydrant and a tree going at a speed of 30...she gets him out of the car by smashing the windows with a golf club...now apparently she caused his facial cuts...on medication thats why he was dosey when he lay on the ground after getting out the car. Mad story really!
Anybody think there is a cover up here that maybe Woods and his wife were having a row so Woods left the house at 2:20am in the morning but she followed him out to the driveway, hit him a few flakes of one of his irons then he got into the car and reversed out and happened to hit a tree?!!
According to Marian Finnucane, on radio today, his wife was using the golf club to break the rear window and get Tiger out of the vehicle after the crash.
