Just wanted to say; all this talk about negative tactics through the campaign, Trapp is a fantastic manager, we are lucky to have him.

Stood in the Stade De France on Wednesday and I lost count of the amount of times we all sang the Trappattoni song.

yeah he is a good manager imo, people have short memories of how we played under the last 2 managers he has made us a solid unit and we seem to have a fantastic spirit among the squad under him

I would never put Kerr in the same bracket as Staunton.

Trap is a legend imo. He is right to do it his way, a man of his age and experience doesnt need to go to the Britannia or Ewood Park to watch players who may not even play.

I also think he is right with Andy Reid, he set an example early on that he is the boss, so dont fu*k with me no matter who you are. Reid was just the wrong man in the wrong place, nothing personal just collateral damage.

Finally I think the tactics he uses are also right. Despite the perforamce the other night, we are not good enough to go and attack teams, I think we took the French by surprise the other night and that will be a once off.

2 more years of Trap please.

    I agree 100%

    FFS, are we all forgetting:

    - The crap we had to put up with, prior to his arrival (thanks to the FAI being tight ar$e, small minded b'stards....)

    - The fact that we have a very limited amount of players to select from, so we definitely punch well above our weight (thank to Trap and those who do wear the green shirt)

    ...

Sure, it's long past time he sorted out his differences with Reid, but thats just become a stupid personal issue now, between two big egos and needs to be resolved, probably by locking the two lads in a room for an hour. Hopefully, it may happen over the months to come, with the team and manager not under the spotlight, quite so much.

    agree with garrett and bren100.

the andy reid thing is a bad point as far as i am concerned. having said that some people argue that is good he stood his ground and did it his way. still thing the time has come to bring him back. he would defo strengthen the team.

Fair enough Garrett, but Brian Kerr had to work under the same conditions as Trapattoni and its almost uncanny how the Italian's results compare with Kerr's. In his last qualifying campaign Kerr lost only one game, at home to France 0-1. Sound familiar? Not saying that Trap needs to pack his bags but I do feel he has let us down somewhat during this campaign and shouldn't be getting tonnes of praise lashed at him cos ultimately we're not going to the World Cup next summer.

Andy reid my arse , its not like he was scoring hat ricks or setting up goal after goal when he was previously in the team.
Trap dropping him finally got his fat arse into gear and now he has shed a few pound.
Besides, hes never going to play in midfield and its not like we are crying out for him on the wing.
Lawrence and Duff did great over the 2 games, and McGeady and Hunt arent too bad either to have in reserve.

My View on Trap is that he is one of the true legendary managers in the game.

For once though I agree with that tool Donkey on a few points
    - Swallow his pride and get Mandy Reid back in squad for next round of matches. Pick the best players that are available (If they want to play and are fit!). Finnan and S Reid where worth a place in the squad for playoff. Was madness not call up S Reid when Miller was ruled out
    - He should go to games in England to see the players. He is getting paid a ransom and he should make the effort to watch the players live. Fair enough he has his assistants who go, but the man himself should be there to see them.

Im a fan of Trap but he has to bring back Andy Reid - he is the best Irish player around on form - and he realy wants to play for his country unlike Stephen Ireland. Would have been some boost to see andy reid coming on when glenn whelan had to come off on wednesday night. Hopefully we'll have the two reids and steve finnan back for the next campaign.

one of the worst posts on this site ive ever seen. Typical Irish, nation of begrudgers, excuse makers and bulshitters. Whats that all about. To say Andy reid on form does not to deserve to be in the Ireland squad on form is simply ridiculous

Trap is quality best manager since Mick...
I just wish he could bury the hatchet with Andy Reid, and i would be delighted, start the Euros on a fresh,

Slowly coming to terms with Wednesday night now.. Would have been gutted if we went out during normal play, penos whatever without been cheated..
Don't think i want a replay now, the goodness is gone out of it..

Looking forward to the draw in Feb, bring on the French. .

I'll say no more bout internation footy till the world cup after this..

Brazil are a great price to win it and will do IMO, i'm sticking a fiver a week on them from now till the tournament starts. Be a nice few bob if they win it..

Spain have a brilliant goal keeper, the best midfield in the world and the best striker. Their defence is suspect at times, but for me there are the team to beat.
