Ranked 25th out of the 53 European teams. Nothing healthy about that ranking.

Pot One: Spain, Germany, Holland, Italy, England, Croatia, Portugal, France, Russia.

Pot Two: Greece, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Turkey, Denmark, Slovakia, Romania.

Pot Three: Israel, Bulgaria, Finland, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Pot Four: Slovenia, Latvia, Hungary, Lithuania, Belarus, Belgium, Wales, FYR Macedonia, Cyprus.

Pot Five: Montenegro, Albania, Estonia, Georgia, Moldova, Iceland, Armenia,Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein.

Pot Six: Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, Malta, Faroe Islands, Andorra, San Marino.

I'd like the above. Probably better off with a great team like Spain that beats everyone else and we play for 2nd.

Is the euros expanded to 24 teams for this tournament or was that agreed?

We will take France, Turkey and Belgium and we will qualify while putting a few ghosts to bed in the process!

The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2012, will be the 14th European Championship for national football teams sanctioned by UEFA. Poland and Ukraine will be the host nations of the final tournament, scheduled for mid-2012, following the selection of their joint bid by UEFA's Executive Committee, on 18 April 2007, in Cardiff, Wales. This bid defeated the other shortlisted bids from Italy and Croatia/Hungary, becoming the third successful joint-bid for the European Championship, after those of Belgium/Netherlands, for Euro 2000, and Austria/Switzerland for Euro 2008. This will be the last European Championship finals in which only 16 nations will participate, with Euro 2016 being the first European Championship finals with 24 competing nations.

Crazy that. Best thing to do would be to have a seeded draw where everyone plays a two legged game against one team, winner goes to the finals. Scrap the rest of the international calendar and leave club football in peace.

true but there will be a lot of poor teams in the competition

they should leave it at 16,

when it goes up to 24 you will see alot more joint bids cause individula countries wouldnt be able to cope with 24 teams, currently is 16 teams and 8 stadiums have to be up to scratch, i'd imagine when it goes to 24 you will need 12 stadiums

it will also add an extra knockout round which will mean the tournament will go on longer so the players will get fuk all of a rest before the new season starts

France and Italy will be putting in a joint bid for Euro 2016. When you see countries of that size with the amount of stadia they both have being reduced to joint bidding for a continental tournament you might as well give up. Long way away from the days when only 4 teams competed in the final stages!

As much as I question the legitimacy of wikipedia, things have obviously changed since I last heard this story. They were both definitley going to enter a joint bid at one stage, clearly that looks to have changed.

The first placed teams from each group along with the best runner-up will qualify automatically. The remaining runners-up will take part in a playoff.
