only a rumour mate, dont believe everything you read

and to be honest F365 is a sh*t site that sources 90% of its news from the daily rags and sky sports news

cole is ok but he'll be ridiculously overpriced coz he's english. the guy chamakh from bordeaux who'll be a free transfer in the summer i think would exhibit better value coz the hammers (and rightly so) will probably be looking for closer to 15m - remember bent went for was it 16 or 18m. considering how tight our finances are even ruud van nistelroy or trezeguet (both over 30) will prob be more realistic targets - esp considering we need a top wide player ( well 2 actually, but noone will replace kuyt) and prob a centreback if skertl and co dont buck up

F365 put that gossip column up for a laugh to take the piss out of the papers usually. From now till end of January this is what the hacks will be relying on for news. I wont be taking notice until any player is signed and sealed.

I don't think Masherano will go in January, however would not be suprised if he went in the summer. If Rafa did somehow get 36 million for him, then it would be the deal of the century.

As for Carlton Cole, no thanks.

I don't think Masch will leave in January but unless he signs a new contract I can definitely see him going in the summer.

As for Carlton Cole, I don't think it's that unbelieveable. It has been well documented about the need to sign british players ahead of the quota system coming in and Carlton Cole is far from the worse striker in the PL. He is also strong in the air which is something we're lacking up front.

Have a feeling that he has a gentlemans agreement with Arsene Wenger for next summer.

I like Carlton Cole-would be an excellent option off the bench but he's going to want guarenteed first team football just before the World Cup.

In any case,we've fcuk all money for January and even if we do sell Masch-Rafa's going to buy a replacement midfielder, not a striker.Any surplus will go to paying off the banks:mad:

We all know that papers make up rumours and this is probably bullshit but just for the sake of discussing it let's assume this is true...

Worst PL 11?? Harse in the extreme. He's 25 and his development to date has been the traditional graph for a striker (other than the top world class players) of coming into their best form from 24-28. Remember he would only be a back up striker and you could have far worse to come off the bench. Most importantly he's strong in the air which we are sadly lacking and we obviously cannot afford the A-list strikers out there.

I've said it on here before now that I reckon Masch could go in January. If behind the scenes he's refusing to sign a new contract for whatever reason the last time we can make decent money out of him will be in January. And ironically, IF he goes, it might just bring better balance to the side with Lucas and Aquilani in the centre and Gerrard in front of them. If Masch wants to go, better to make big money in January than to keep him for the second half of the season, see a law of diminishing returns and sell him for a lot less in the summer...

All speculation but if it were true I wouldn't be overly put off by it, provided we got the money Masch is worth.

Agree with everything you've said there except one part. There is no way Lucas is capable of doing Masch's job in midfield.

If Masch goes then we need to replace him with another destructive midfielder. Although Masch isn't great going forward, there are few better than him at closing down and harrassing the other teams midfield.

We would have to replace Masch with something similar.

Cole is good at the times,. very raely, and is sh!te for the most part, would be great to have him as a back up striker, but Chamahk would be a better cheaper option,.
