According to his agent, Andreas Dossena want out of Liverpool due to his lack of appearances, as he wants to stake his claim for a place on the Italian team for the World Cup see link - http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/live...-wants-to-leave-liverpool-fc-100252-25031003/ In my opinion, off you go Andreas & here is the busfare to JL Ray2007
I thought he had a few good performances towards the end of last year, got his goal against Real and United, will u ever forget him pounding his chest after the Real goal!ha. He was delighted. He hasnt even been on the bench this season for games so I suppose move him on ye. An Italian club will offer a few million for him I say.
Same old stary though. Rafa may keep him simply because he knows he won't get the few million for january. Those cnuts will just pocket it and leave him a smaller squad.
January might be the only time he might slip under the radar with a sale or two because the repayments are called in in the Summer
He hasn't been on the bench for a few games is because he has been injuried and I think he's in the squad for tonights game
He could have left in the summer except he would'nt take a pay cut to go to Napoli after we'd accepted a bid, if he does'nt make world cup its his fault.
Didn't realise that was the case at all trucker. I thought it was a case that Rafa wouldn't sell cos he wouldn't get the money for the squad.
I still don't really see the sense in keeping him if he has no chance of getting a game. Voronin too. Get them off the wage bill at least
£4.5m (£3m loss for us)bid accepted in July, Napoli chairman thn said Dossena would'nt agree to terms(£20k a week less than what hes on at us) so that was the end of that, this was actually before Xabi and Bob left. I think he thought Napoli would fold.
To be fair why would he take a 20k pay cut. Especially when he has good reason to think he deserves a decent amount of game time in relation to Insua, Riera and Babel
Not our problem, but I cant cry about game time after putting in a transfer request in the summer, we accept a bid and he refused it.
The only quotes attributed to him show a good attitude; wherein he is dissappointed not to feature more but accepts this situation at a big club and continues to work hard. Agent talk I tend to take with a pinch of salt.
I'm sure we'd let him go, if the right deal comes along ... As Trucker mentions above, there was clearly one opportunity already, hopefully there will be others .. perhaps if he does not play in the CL, then there's a chance we might get him away for a few quid in Jan'2010. He wants out / We ain't using him ... so not rocket science. Personally, I thought he was better going forward, than defending, but the problem there is he was hired to defend !
He may not have set us alight and can't argue if he is shipped as he is not suited to the EPL, but one thing the lad has is desire to play and win. I think he always showed commitment when he was out there regardless of his abilitys. Thats one big plus and i just wish some other player had that.
Very true. Outside of Gerrard, Carragher, Benayoun and Kuyt there haven't been may Liverpool players who have shown the level of commitment you'd expect this season.
if he wants to go i'll fly over to liverpool and personally carry his suit cases to the airport free of charge and i'll even pay for his flight too , if a player doesn't want to play for us i say get rid because so many players would love to play for liverpool
if he wants to go let him go, yeah he has had some good performances but theyv been few and far between. for a team wanting to challenge for the title, dossena just doesnt fit in imo
